Johnny Marr announces new double album

I do think it is quite interesting that the new album is being released as 4 x 4 track EP's. It is almost like an admission that across 2 albums of Johnny's solo work you will probably have 4 decent songs.

Johnny Marr announces new double album

It’s like a modern day version of the Emperor’s New Clothes.

Johnny Marr announces new double album

New song sounds great although for some reason, as much as I truly love his work with The Smiths, The The and as a guitar player myself much respect but I just cannot warm to his Solo stuff. lyrics are generally too abstract, music is all a bit meh.

Matt Walker on Too Much Effing Perspective Podcast - Morrissey mentions (August 24, 2021)

Matt’s Instagram Bio still states Drummer for Morrissey with other artists listed as “former”. I am pretty sure Matt would have amended this if he wasn’t still part of the Morrissey plan. Maybe this is just a temporary thing.

Morrissey Replacing Nine Inch Nails at Riot Fest in Chicago (September 16, 2021)

I imagine his choices will include people “who will prove“ he isn’t a far right supporter.

Dennis Herring (producer) / Twitter - Extraordinary story about the Smiths' songwriting and recording

Wouldn’t this have been close to impossible in the old analog tape days? I can see how you might do this with today’s technology but I just can’t see this happening in the 80’s.

    "Cosmic Dancer" b/w "That's Entertainment" vinyl 7" released today (February 19, 2021)

Was this always planned to be released under the Parlaphone label? Just wondered if this was a clue to him having a deal with a new label.

Morrissey Central "AND IT'S COMING FOR YOU" (December 20, 2020)

but that clearly isn’t working is it? I admit these vaccines have been rushed but 90% protection is better than none.

The Telegraph: "Stephen Street on falling out with Morrissey, the Britpop wars and getting Pete Doherty to behave" (December 15, 2020)

I think he has shown himself to be pretty loyal. Gary has left and returned, Solomon left and returned, so has Matt. Producers are really important, I think Street is great but maybe Morrissey doesn’t want to be in 1990 again. I am pretty sure it isn’t that he WON’T work with street, just that...
