Mark Linkous, 47, has taken his own life.
The artist who was responsible for Sparklehorse had suffered from physical health problems for many years following an overdose that led to a period of paralysis and ongoing difficulties.
For those unaware of Sparklehorse a wonderful world of...
The music "industry" has always been awful.
Liam Gallagher wasn't summing anything up by throwing his award into the crowd...he was trying to dismiss his brothers greatest work by dismissing the award.
GaGa was, as ever, the star of the show.
Peter Kay was, as ever, hideous...a man...
Hullo all
Can I shamelessly plug my new film review blog here?
it can be found at

If you want to register as a follower that would be lovely then you can leave comments on the films.
Last year I went to see over 150 films at the cinema and this year...
What a great thread.
I've really enjoyed reading everyones favourite tracks.
Viva Hate: The Ordinary Boys
Kill Uncle: Sing Your Life
Your Arsenal: I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday
Vauxhall and I: Speedway
Southpaw Grammar: Southpaw
Maladjusted: Trouble Loves Me
You Are The Quarry: I...
Both acts are on the Sony/BMG roster.
Either way Cowell and co make some money.
Besides which pop music has a long history of manufactured, light-weight, disposable acts...from the very beginnings of "rock 'n' roll" it's always been the same.
I suggest that if you don't like X-Factor or...
Just back from seeing The Cribs in Edinburgh (I left early...I'm too old).
They were fine...but Johnny Marr was fabulous.
All through the set I kept thinking; "Jesse Tobias or Johnny Marr...Jesse Tobias or Johnny Marr?"
The problem is that WE all know the answer and we all know that...
I've just returned from seeing God Help The Girl in Edinburgh.
They were backed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
Neil Hannon made a guest appearance too which was a huge thrill for me.
The girls were absolutely wonderful...live the songs and their voices are even richer than they are on...

There are two full shows available for free on iTunes from Daniels own podcast.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates him
I have to be honest and say that seeing his show "66A Church Road" last year and "The Interminable Loneliness of Gregory Church" this year was more...
An interesting article from The Quietus which I am sure will prompt some debate and discussion.

I am a bit of a film nut.
I've been to the cinema to see 136 films this year alone...goodness knows how many DVDs I've watched/bought in addition.
I'm so much of a "geek" about films that I keep a film diary with my ticket stubs, who I went with, where, what time and a rating out of ten...
Awful.
A celebration of mediocrity.
Dull, dull, dull.
The worst sort of "indie" people.
Horrible human beans too...like most of the Glasgow indie mafia.
Yuk.

Re: TWO Unseen Robert Mackie letters (not included in mackie's "words by morrissey")
Point of Order...
"Frankly Charming" was NOT written by John Hunt with Hannah Bayman.
It was a solo effort by John.
Hannah Bayman wrote her own fanzine "Miserable Lies" which, eventually, went a bit...
I thought this forum was for discussion of other "music"?
What on earth does Robbie Williams have to do with music?
I'm being entirely serious.
He is hideous.
Where many pop "stars" are vain and a little self-obsessed none can match this odious little beasts level of self-importance...
Is there anyone, anywhere who cares about this?
I don't think the members of this horrible band even care.
A hideous, hideous group.
Death becomes them.
