Well - what's on the horizon? No shows, no deal, decimated fan-base - what would you do?
Decimated is a bit of an exaggeration but it has definitely reduced considerably since he publicly endorsed far-right politics in 2018/2019. Probably down by 50% in the UK and perhaps around a third elsewhere. It's still the size of many a middling indie group's fanbase (e.g. Flaming Lips, James) so a deal is not out of the question. The fanbase (and therefore sales projections) is quite a long way down on when he was last offered a record deal in 2017, however, and if he's expecting a similar offer to back then, it's unlikely to be made.

Wonder if this list is actually Samantha Dullwell's rankings and Morrissey gave it his seal of approval?

Anyway all rather bizarre, I have an image of Morrissey sitting listening to his records at the same time each day and ranking them on a wallchart (like the wallcharts of league positions you used to get in Shoot Football annual back in the day.)

Whatever floats your boat I say.

Not his usual listing which is ordered by how recent the albums were. Should have placed Bonfire of Teenagers at number one to create some buzz.

And you know this how, exactly? Did they take a poll?

Also...how and when has he endorsed "far right" politics? Yes he espoused vague support for For Britain but in the same breath saying he doesn't really support any party or trust politicians. So basically all that means is that he supports a revision of England's immigration laws, which is ONE facet of For Britain's platform.

He has said that British culture is largely gone because of the vastly changed mixed heritage populace. That makes him racist? Or is he just stating a fact that people don't want to confront? He said the same thing about America's influence on Btitish culture 25 years ago. Did that mean he was anti American? Doubtful, as he MOVED HERE.

"Everyone prefers their own race." I.E. everyone feels most innately attuned to others that are superficially like them. Wow. Such a hateful comment. No. Clumsily worded (arguably) but actually just a blunt, non biased observation. If you have an IQ over 5, you'd reasonably infer that he meant instinctively prefer at the outset.

"You can't help but think of the Chinese as a subspecies in regard to their treatment of animals." That's a paraphrase but the point is that press midwits usually just quote the part "the Chinese are a subspecies." They divorce it from the context he said it in. And if you think that the way the Chinese treat dogs and cats ISN'T barbaric, savage, and inhumane (i.e. LESS THAN HUMAN WITH REGARD TO THE BEHAVIOR) then you're f***ed.

So again please explain how and when he embraced far right, racist politics. This dude who idolized James Baldwin, Maya Angelou, and the Black Panthers. This dude whose biggest fan base (not to mention half of his band at any given time) are Latino. This dude who spent the 2000s mocking George Bush, the right wing leader of the free world. This dude who sells out shows in Latin American countries. This dude who had Thelma Houston duet with him on his last album. This dude who changed a major verse on a classic song to Spanish lyrics. This dude who saturated his Low In High School album with middle Eastern lyrical and musical motifs.

Show me the racism. Show me the far right ethos.

Dummy.

It wasn't that long ago that 'I Am Not a Dog on a Chain' was his favourite, now it's down at number 12. The fickle swine.

"Everyone prefers their own race." not clumsily, but stupidly at best.

do you know any artist who does lists like these?

and who changes them like he does?

and who has a fan base who discusses them and him like we do?

face it
the man is unique

and so are you

Absolutely.

I am convinced, an important parameter for his choice has always been the fact, if he spotted some attractive men in the front row. He saw me in Neu-Isenburg in 2015 and ranked the concert very high. Lousy sound, ugly gym hall & half empty, by the way.

Phrancly, Mr...

He/someone has put World Peace Is None Of Your Business at number one. Which is where I'd put it. Great somgs, great lyrics and unbelievable music. The album also contains the best song Morrissey has ever written, solo or with The Smiths: Mountjoy.

if this is intended as his ranking of albums, best to worst, it surely is a strange one.
I don't think a similar list prepared by anyone on here would closely resemble this.

take out the smiths albums and it’s pretty close to mine. I’ve been cheering swords and world peace since they came out and of course bona drag is in my top five. It’s impossible to really make a similar list though. These songs mean so much more to him than us in a million ways we’re not seeing

Yah but....California Son ahead of Meat Is Murder, TQID, and Viva Hate? What?!!

a lot of that probably has to do with maybe those being some of his favorite songs which he probably loves singing. A list of his favs doesn’t mean he thinks they are his greatest accomplishments or whatever metric we as fans use

Can Moz start listing his preference for Johnny Marr's various albums/projects? I'd be more interested in which he prefers - Girls Aloud or The The.
