Hi

I heard an old rockabilly track many moons ago that included the line
"I danced myself into the tomb" (or something similar)
that Marc Bolan used in his song "Cosmic Dancer" ...

Can anyone name the track for me?

I THINK it was on a White Label Compilation but I can't be sure ...
I've tried rifling my collection to no avail ... any ideas?

Morrissey mentions it on one of those interviews from the front seat
of the car you can see on youtube ...

Many Thanks,
Danny

dunno what yer talking about but it;s womb, not tomb..maybe this will
give you a better search result

I guess that you know Morrissey played it in his 1991 kill uncle tour
[acoustic, well in Utrecht may 1 ]

Actually the song has both lines -
"I danced myself out of the womb..." at the beginning
"I danced myself into the tomb" at the end

I can't name the rockabilly track however I'm afraid! I'm sure someone on here can...

I think Boz was asked this question and didn't know the answer, given his rockabilly and Bolan fetiches that's saying something.

Please drop me a line if you do find out, I'd very much like to know:)

I always thought the origin was from the original song. . . T. Rex's "Cosmic Dancer" off of Electric Warrior. I guess I'm wrong. Moz might just be trying to impress us with his musical intellect.

I also like the Agents Of Oblivion version of this song, superior even to the Moz live cut.
