IANADOAC international charts - Spain #7, Portugal #12, Germany #13, Austria #32, Italy #89, France #117

The album entered the Portuguese chart at number 12, according to this:

(My Portuguese is non-existent, so apologies if this is some kind of bullshit "not real sales" kind of chart.)

Posted by Morrissey Isn’t Very Good:

Remember Morrissey said he was number 1 in Poland, even though he was showing the daily chart of a record shop in Poland and not the official Polish Album Chart? Well, shock of shocks, he didn’t make the top 50. http://olis.onyx.pl/listy/index.asp?lang=

He’s in the official French Album Chart! New entry at 117. https://snepmusique.com/les-tops/le-top-de-la-semaine/top-albums/

Number 13 in Germany. That’s a lot better. https://www.offiziellecharts.de/charts/album

Number 7 in Spain. He’s getting there! https://www.elportaldemusica.es/lists

Number 89 in his beloved Italy. https://www.fimi.it/top-of-the-music/classifiche.kl#/charts/1/2020/13

Number 32 in Austria. http://www.austriatop40.at/longplay.php

Morrissey has played in Edinburgh during the Festival.
Not sure of the exact year but it was my birthday and I'd guess at 2006 ?

It was at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

I think we managed to pin it down as T at the Fringe, a music festival that wasn't officially part of the fringe & went on into the last week of August in 2004. Would love to have seen it!

Couldnt give a toss what chart number position he has in any country.
I have the CD i am a massive fan and i always will be.
Long Live the Mozfather

I don't think Moz fans like festivals, it's a helluva long day watching the support acts ( some good some bad ) waiting on Moz coming on and usually it's an abbreviated set too, maybe 15 songs. I'd rather turn up, watch the videos, singalong with Moz then go for drinkypoos...perfect night out! ???

Yeah - I hate music festivals. I usually end up chatting to people instead of watching the acts.

Never was good with years. Thanks for clarifying it.

I knew it wasn't part of the 'official' Fringe.
It was a fantastic gig and my birthday as well.

Think the support was Arab Strap ? My one and only time at a gig in that venue and the only time Moz ever played there.

Support was The Dead 60's and I thought they were decent, very very warm in venue and only time I've been there, was a great night for sure.

Imagine spending your last few years defending a racist.

Imagine dedicating your life to 'hate' & posting on this forum 24/7 in various guises telling anyone who'll listen that someone is a racist just because you have a personal axe to grind & can't actually work things out for yourself?

I saw Morrissey at Leeds in 2004. I also saw the White Stripes because they were apparently much more popular than Moz and when I turned around to leave, I couldn't get out. So instead of Supergrass I saw Meg White. I'm still not sure if that was a fair trade.

Oh dear. People who take issue with the drivel that drips from the side of Morrissey’s mouth aren’t welcome? People who have valid opinions about the music aren’t welcome? This forum is only for fawning sycophant-slugs? I thought this was a place for free-speech and Morrissey related discourse.

What happened to all of the piss and vinegar about the evils of quashing various opinions? Oh - that’s right... The concept of free speech only applies to people who agree with you.

The only people who’re “butt hurt” are mindless twits like you. Rubes who dwell up his anus and only pop down to spit shit at those who disagree. You’re the latter-day latch-ons. Now you’re committed. The boat of rationality sailed, years ago. You had plenty of time to book a ticket. ...but here you are - tongue firmly planted in his anus, with the Melvis 14.

Fak Arf.
Why some people in here when run out of plausible arguments start swearing so much. Is this a British thing? Please, I'd like to know so as to get acquainted with the culture.

Yes. It's a British thing.

It's worse in Glasgow, where we sometimes swear to say hello, to people we like.

Ying Yang.
Democracy.
Free speech.
Karma will send back to you that last paragraph.
Hopefully.
A Ying Yang philosophy follower? I doubt it.
A democrat? Not probable.
Free speech advocate? Most probably unilateral FS.
So many hypocritical people in the world...

Of course, but then again Spain has surpassed Italy in coronavirus cases as one of the worst-hit nations.

But not as far as deaths is concerned.
  • Italy 13915
  • Spain 10935
Like gordy suggests, priorities lie elsewhere.

I live in Glasgow and haven't a clue what you mean, care to elaborate?

Never liked the Stripes myself and I've never seen Supergrass but they've certainly had some decent songs so yeah you lost out there.

Don't think it's a British thing more a sign of an individual who is incapable of behaving in public, the poster you've highlighted is a very strange character indeed. Someone you'd cross the street to avoid as they just come across as really 'orrible.
