Johnny Marr vs David Cameron

This wonderfully written piece puts me in the mood for a floating broccoli sandwich.

Marr's latest Tweet is "Nick Clegg, hand over your iPod...".

I think Johnny has just discovered what a fantastic publicity tool the Internet can be :lbf:

If this wasn't said tongue firmly in cheek then maybe he should have stopped while he was ahead.

Of course it was tongue-in-cheek, as was the Cameron comment before it. Sheesh.

My fault. I should have edited the quote thus..

so you didn't feel the need to defend him.

Upon reflection I think he should have kept quiet. First time, it's endearing. Second time, you're just milking it.

Sometimes, even 140 characters are too much.

I doubt that most American fans even knew who David Cameron is

I do and I saw a glimpse of him at work in the British Parliament debates on Youtube. I know he is a conservative (a no-no apparently in Johnny's world), and that he is the current Prime Minister of Britain. I have no logical basis to judge him, because I know so little about him, personally. He probably is hurt by the comment though. Morrissey was surprisingly diplomatic towards his views on him.
