And simultaneously Jesse Tobias dies a little more on the inside :ROFLMAO:
I hope Morrissey doesn't start to feel the love for Alain's return moving in on his turf. He can be a fickle one this Moz.

His own, presumably.
Yes, he bought them the same day he bought those sheets so he could spend the day in bed not watching the news, instead writing moderately amusing lyrics.

Thankfully, the allure of his bed in Caesar's Palace didn't preclude him from performing for the 'clueless consumers' who were drafted in from the casino to fill the unsold seats.

Why isn't it possible to admire both Alain and Jesse? Morrissey certainly does.

They are collegues playing in the same band, not rivals!

Please, stop sowing the seeds of hatred.
Well, yes, I mean...Morrissey is famous for sowing the seeds of love, isn't he?

The feeling appears mutual:

FWD.
It looks like Jesse has taken over Morrissey's habit of talking in superlatives, not sure how much we should read into that. I have to say, though, that I really like this incarnation of the band. Maybe it was because everybody was eager to be able to play live again after such a long break, but I thought that the band sounded more lively and everybody seemed happy to be there.

When I look at footage from the years before the pandemic, it strikes me how serious and static the band looks onstage, especially Boz, who does not seem to have had a facial expression for decades. Don't get me wrong, I like Boz and he has written many great songs, but onstage he reminded me of that older colleague that has been with the company for far too long and is just waiting for retirement. You know, that middle-aged blasé colleague who's lost his spark a long time ago but still gets to call many of the shots and is holding back his colleagues in the process.

Alain will hopefully be back for the time being, which would make sense as he and Morrissey are writing songs together. I really liked his interactions with Solomon, but who knows, he might have had a similar dynamic with Mando? I suppose that Brendan was just here for the Las Vegas residency and that Matt will be back soon? Either way, I thought that Brendan was spot on I wouldn't mind him returning in the future.

To be honest, I am mostly relieved that they managed to go through with all the concerts and that Morrissey and the band sounded great, which is funny in a time when bands are cancelling gigs left and right. I know that it won't happen, but I wish that all those people who said that Morrissey was surely going to cancel would actually give him some credit now. And where are the reviews?

I think Siris called it right there. I first saw Morrissey in ‘99, but the last few times the band have lacked spark. Boz can play different instruments, but wasn’t adding much with his guitar playing. I’m not Jesse’s biggest fan, but it seemed like the pressure was on him to carry the weight of guitar duties. From what I’ve seen on the stream of these shows, Alain added a lot more skill and energy than Boz, allowing a sharing of guitar duties/responsibilities with Jesse, with both sharing lead parts. Provided they can all get on, I think this is a great incarnation of the band going forwards, possibly (hopefully) with Boz contributing in the studio.

I just hope he can tour the UK soon, I’d love to see him play with this lineup.

Spring-Heeled Fish (not posted in a very long time)

The nme did a mention at him playing some rare smiths songs but that’s all I saw

The lowest phase of Moz has been with jesse, sad but true.
Has jesse written something like "your arsenal", "vauxhall and i", maladjusted, etc.?
Mmmm You meant co written songs yes he has good ones. Like if you don't like me don't loo at me, the new great one. Once I saw the river clean, from too if my head Alain has co written only two good ones from each vynil you mention. Too. Plus Jess has more modern rock style Wich i like too. So no no lowest. Both musicians I like

Strange, right? I can only assume it's either (a) no outlets want to review Morrissey at this point, in order to deny him publicity or
(b) no press were invited?

very well could be.

Sorry if this has been asked before but what was the capacity of the venue and how full was it on each night ?
Like 78% to 85 or 90. Not counting the top row Wich seams was closed I was there 5 nights and varies some rows seats empty . Not bad crowd for pandemia

Doesn’t this post seem like a guy leaving the band?

(we can only hope, anyway)
I hope he doesn't leave he band otherwise I will not go to mozz concerts anymore. This newalain sound dintblike much. It doesn't mean o don't like Alain but I like e more Jess ,'s rock metal guru. 😙

Something being missed that appears obvious to consider:
Brendan, Alain, Solomon & Gustavo rehearsed very close to the time of the gigs.

They wouldn't probably have the time to learn new songs, especially when they were recorded by different musicians in the first place and only Tobias was present during the recording session.
Vegas was described as:

"The show will serve as an intimate, invigorating dive into his expansive career from his early days to the new album."
(New album meaning Dog at time of publishing).

I think the objective was to deliver that and anything else would be deemed unnecessary maybe?
Regards,
FWD

Makes sense, about the time limit.

And how does the lighting person fit into this, deal with new songs? I’m sure they could improvise with a new song, but they may need to know the songs before hand to get the lighting right, no ?

Jesse might not be my favorite guitarist of all time either, but I don't share the dislike that many people on this site seem to have of him. In the meantime, Boz seemed to be above criticism, while, like you say, his guitar playing didn't add that much (anymore). I can imagine that it might have been liberating for Jesse to share the guitar duties with someone else for a change.
