Lazy descriptions of Morrissey

Woman at work a wee while back ~ "Miserable poofter"
Fairly lazy, I thought. Accurate perhaps. But lazy nonetheless.

I heard many terrible descriptions of Morrissey when I worked at the karaoke bar
most were along the lines of either the completely negative like:
"Aint he some limey racist fag?"

to the surprised people who asked me about his China comments :o saying things like:
"So he's gay and racist, thats weird, aint it?"

people in bars say aint alot

"Manchester's Master of Misery"

I quite like that one. In fact, I don't see what is wrong with some of these.

He does have an adept way of expressing an emotion that we all feel at some point and his lyrics don't tend to focus on overwhelming happiness, joy, cards falling into place, waking with a spring in your step to embrace the coming day.

He speaks of that side of life which most mainstream lyricists shy from. I read here once someone commented on Ringeader, that nearly every single song mentioned death. Name one other singer that confronts those sorts of issues on such a regular basis.

Calling him the Master of Misery I think is a compliment. It praises his talent to deal with that which no one else could possibly do as well.
