McCain's VP Choice

Sarah Palin's email account was hacked.

She uses yahoo email to handle official government business. And we want this person to be VP? She can't handle security!!!

So far four screenshots have been released, but nothing scandalous. Apparently there is more and stuff has been forwarded to various media outlets.

Stay tuned. things may get juicy.

Chris Matthews is by no means my favorite, but in this clip he lays down the law.

oh, the vids are working now, they just werent working that day for some reason. thx anyway though :)

that clip reminded me of when Chris PWNED that guy for not knowing about Neville Chamberlain. "he was an appeaser Chris" " but what did he do?" " he appeased, Chris." haha. he doesnt let people get away with shit. granted, sometimes he doesnt even let people get a word in edgewise, but I would love to see him interview Palin. they thought Gibson was tough on her, oh mannn, seeing Matthews talk to her would be the end of her.

Awesome! :guitar: :D

I read today that Masunaga Optical Manufacturing (based in Fukui, Japan) has received 9,000 global orders mostly from the US in the last 10 days for Palin’s glasses (frames), the Clear-rim MP-704.

I want a pair too if I can see Russia from my house! :p What a spectacle!;)

Notice how he never answered a single question Matthews asked him. f***ing slime.

Just to tell you all, we are all doomed once my generation is in power.

:( someone in my class thought John McCain's vp running mate was Barbara Bush.

...some didn't even know John McCain was running. they thought Bush was again.

Not to keep harping on the white women vote, but Morford's column today tries to figure out the relationship to Palin. From "some white women are as dumb as men," to seeing Palin as "an incresingly disturbing PR stunt and a bit of a disgrace for McCain," it makes for an interesting and somewhat hopeful read.

"Every white woman I know is positively horrified.

Wait, that's not exactly true. It's more accurate to say that every thoughtful or liberal or intuitive or open-minded white woman I know worth her vagina monologue and her self-determination and two centuries of nonstop striving for equal rights and sexual freedom and exhaustive patriarchal unshackling is right now openly horrified, appalled at what the addition of shrill PTA hockey-mom Sarah Palin seems to have done for the soggy, comatose McCain campaign -- that is, make it not merely remotely interesting and melodramatic, but aggressively hostile to, well, to all intelligent women everywhere..."

Mark Morford

I only just started reading Marc Marford, and now I'm hooked - he so beautifully expresses what I'm thinking.

I was so inspired by the women's suffrage movement as a kid - Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Lucretia Mott et al. Their struggle, and the long decades of denial and rejection (and even torture) that they had to endure to see the dream fulfilled is one of history's great lessons. The fact that the movement's leaders were all dead by the time they won their battle never fails to bring a tear to my eye - the fight is all.

Now, at this moment in history, we finally (heaven forbid) have a woman on her way to the White House who stands for everything the movement was against, and who would turn back the clock on all that work for equality, justice and sexual self-determination. The bitter, cruel, twisted irony of this fulfills my darkest notions about the pointlessness/indifference of our godless universe.

Oh well, off to work...

Anaesthesine, thank you for your thoughtful post. I too am hooked on MM because, just as you said, 'he so beautifully expresses what I'm thinking." And many times reading his column helps me flesh out where I stand. I have been so torn with Sarah Palin offered as potential VP. Her nomination, though, is a mockery to the history of women's struggles, civil rights struggles, constitutional struggles, justice struggles - the list goes on. It can only be a cruel joke from the mind of Dick Cheney. Yes, I blame him and Carl Rove, the evil doers. :(

You say, "The bitter, cruel, twisted irony of this fulfills my darkest notions about the pointlessness/indifference of our godless universe." You know, they want us to despair and not have hope. Resist. :p

^^ Those are some (true  and) powerful posts between you two. :guitar:

On the Eric & Kathy radio show today, they were talking about the "things you don't know" about Palin. And, of course, offering funny commentary...

I will narrow them down:

She's frugal
She's a techie
She's a rock fan (Van Palin  *groan*)
She's 'adaptable'
She's a traditionalist

--and-- my favorite, :p

She's against waxing...

Her daughter wanted to wax her legs and her Mom said "what's wrong with a razor?!" and insisted she use one. She is against waxing. Draw your own conculsions.

:D
