This is Morrissey: An Interview by Fiona Dodwell - Tremr
June 5, 2018

Excerpt:

When I penned my recent piece, 'Morrissey: The Great Unfiltered Artist' it was my aim to shine a light on somebody who I felt was at times misunderstood, and to attempt to question what we were 'sold to believe' (as I feel we always must when faced with a heavily biased media). Morrissey very kindly agreed to an interview with me. I came away from his responses having a greater sense of the man himself, and of where he was coming from - his words often insightful, at times humorous but always honest. For that, I thank him.

Here is the interview in full.

You're obsessed with racism. Over-compensating for your real inner racist thoughts perhaps? People like you are the first to cross the road when they see a bunch of 'brown' people approaching them on the street at night. Think about that next time you feel so righteous. A change is happening - I hope you're enjoying it.

Fascists killed my uncle in France after he landed in the Normandy Beaches, he was 22, he fought like a lion during the Battle of Rots. Google it, it was the Royal Marines vs Hitler Youth.

I still hold a grudge for my uncle who I never met, I will fight fascism for the rest if my life. Tommy Robinson and For Britain are a bunch of fascist bellends. No pasarán!

You can't make this shit up. Tommy Robinson FFS.

He'll never sell out a venue in the UK ever again, his career in this country is over.

He'll always have a following. Maybe it won't be as large...but that's fine with me. Smaller venues normally means better gigs and cheaper tickets. So he loses a few of the rabid 80's Labour lefties. Wonderful.

If you're equating people who support TR and actually believe in England for fascists, your well off the mark. The people supporting him oppose Hitler and his ilk as much as the next man. Do.....more....research.

1) Relatives of mine fought in the war too. They were told they were fighting to 'preserve Britain's culture and way of life'. They were lied to.

2) Socialists killed millions and millions more people than the Nazis ever did.

3) Since when has despising Pakistani Paedo gangs made anyone a fascist?

I think you should do your research. There is plenty out there that connect tr and for Britain to Holocaust deniers

Hi - I'm a music journalist who has written for CLASH, the Quietus, Drowned in Sound and I'm working on a feature and would love to speak to Morrissey fans posting on here, people who have invested a lot of emotions and identity in Morrissey, and how any of you feel about Morrissey and being a Morrissey fan in light of the things he has said over the last 6-12 months - my emails are open at [email protected] and I would not quote anyone without having gained their permission whatsoever

Exactly. This woman here is an ex copper (she no longer lives in the UK) she has made several videos on what happened to Tommy. She mentions in this one, that people who don't want to address these rape gangs are actually complicit with it. I actually thought this myself after hearing George Galloway's radio show (last one too, never again) a brummie that lives in Israel called in to comment on it and George wouldn't let the guy speak! He basically kept saying that if you have a problem with these rape gangs then you are a Zionist and comparing Muslim rape gangs with ANY other type of rape or abuse.

1:08:30 ish you can hear it

If we demonise a complete religion or race history teaches us it's very easy then to go to war wether your facist, nationalism or communist - any extremes. You start to see human as vermin and before you know it your whipped into a hysteria obeying orders and raiding homes - raping women - smashing babies heads against walls like water melon. You may think I'm mad but history over and over again shows how propoganda works on all sides and as we are all part of a social media age we are all susceptible. Think of Kosovo - Syria etc etc etc. We have the potential to be the same - words turn into actions. As Bertrand Russell said war is not about who is right but only who is left.

Tonight I saw Bryan Ferry perform with the Metropole Orchestra in Amsterdam. It was stellar. It made Morrissey look like a sorry contender on Idols.

Anyway, I just can’t get used to this new right wing Morrissey, because he acts like a twat. Even though I find Islam an evil fascist ideology.

I used to love him.

Now I’m sad.

Oh well...

If I was Moz..instead of just doing his typical mixed bag of toons, I'd hire an orchestra and do a show completely comprised of ballads. I'd also go down the performing classic albums route.

You find Islam an evil fascist ideology - but don't want Morrissey to say this?

Words unfortunately turned into actions in Rochdale the other night:

:drama:

Tommy is trying to fight fascism (Islam), you dolt.

Not really surprised that Morrissey's opinion hasn't change since a few weeks ago... Some interesting and funny comments though. Strange that he finds 'hope' in For Britain.

I don't see why you would suddenly not be a fan anymore because Morrissey's opinion is different to yours. I have best friends and family who I don't agree with politically.
