Edit: Visited my mom a couple of days ago. While i was sitting on the mouldy cellar floor flipping through some of the carton boxes, she tried to remember when and how some of these records had come into her life. Most origins remained a mystery of course. I took home 21 of them. These 10 have made it into the second round.
The 1974 European first press Albert Hammond record is still in superb shape. It was washed and scrubbed thoroughly today, and then digitized.
Listening to originals is like opening a genie bottle, sometimes even a pandora's box. You never know what is crawling out of these ancient grooves again after having been dormant for decades. Might be good and of value, might be evil and destructive, but there is always something coming to life again.
The bass (?) at the beginning and throughout makes it a great song. There is sort of a clicking sound to it.
