I am a visual person all the way. Pictures are something I like to explore of a captured moment in time, frozen for any who gaze upon, to wonder.
I was going through a file cabinet and found this envelope. I did not put it in the cabinet. My wife and I have separate cabinets for our mementos and things we would like to save. I did not remember putting it there so I was curious what was inside. It was all our wedding photo proofs and negatives we bought. These are the photos you look at to decide which ones you like and then decide how to frame the shot and how you want it blown up. The photographers did a wonderful job that day. They gave us something that we can cherish as we get older.
As I was looking at the photographs I remember a interview I heard with Tom petty on I think fresh air, or something on NPR several years ago. He relayed a story of how his house burned down. He was happy that no one was hurt but lamented the loss of all the years of photographed memories that went up in the fire.
The times that you have never go away but pictures are so resolute of your time, they are hard to replace with the same clarity of just your mind.
