Morrissey in San Jose

A poster in a thread on solo asked me yesterday if I was going to the show. I was not and did not have intention to. In fact I did not know it was today. It stuck in my mind though, it has been 18 years since I have been to a show. Well I went.

I was working late in San Francisco and I was curious so I checked stub hub. I saw two tickets barely above face value and sent a text to my wife

I thought, my son has never been to a concert and why not take him to a morrissey show. I was surprised I did not get resistance seeing as it is a school night. With approval, I ordered the tickets and got my butt out of San Francisco. I got home and printed the tickets. I hurriedly kissed my wife and daughter and in short order my son and I were on an adventure. We got into San Jose about 830, parked and went to the theater.

We had some great seats and watched the crowd, ms. young had already played so I was spared whatever that was going to be.

I'll say I was not disappointed with the show. The crowd, like me, and as well Morrissey, is older now. It was kind of cool being there with my son. We had our earplugs, put them in and watched the show. Standouts for me was meat is murder and asleep. Asleep was the essence of what a Morrissey show should be like and I am glad to have gone if not only to hear him sing that song (that totally brought back some 80's teenage memories).
