Thunder, then silence

For the last couple of weeks we had family visiting. It was really good to spend time with 3 of my nieces and nephews. It's hard to spend time with family for me. We all live every where else and far away. We had 9 people in the house, but we have plenty of room for them so it was comfortable. Daily, the crazy thunderous screams coming from 5 very happy to be together cousins running through the house gave me great joy. Early mornings and late nights made up the days, long dinners with lots of talking and sharing.

Well this morning, silence, well as much silence that comes from 2 kids instead of 5. It was interesting watching the kids on this Sunday morning go back to there routines. Just like us adults did in our lives, the kids changed everything they do for their cousins visit. Now my daughter can read her much loved books, without being asked to play. My son can work on his model ship, with out tinier hands wanting to touch the little parts and lose them. Both of these things I found my kids doing this morning. I even went into the garage and changed a tire on my bike. Everything as back as it was, not a thunder, but not totally silent either. Now it's time to make Belgium waffles for my wife.

10 am Sunday morning.
