BBC6's Dream ticket show broadcasts archive live shows held by the BBC.

They have listed a Morrissey set to be broadcast on 08.10.02.

Morrissey is listed as the "headliner" so it will be an hour long set in broadcast in digital. I suspect it may be the Drury Lane set.

  • Additionally, Mrs. Shankly has a link to an mp3 file of the interview portion. I haven't had a chance to listen to it for completeness, but it downloads fairly fast.

  • Even from my T2 connection at work, I get a measly 22kbps connection. I think this means that the quality is 5 times the compression (and loss?) of standard 128 MP3's. Anyone getting anything in the hundreds?

  • I followed a couple of links off of the "Dream Ticket" page and found a nice 'Kirsty' page with links to Janice Long's documentary on her life and highlights from the recent tribute event. Additionally, there is a nice writeup on Kirsty and a handful of her songs available as Winmedia files. Enjoy!

  • After assessing Moz's behavior on both the BBC and Craig Kilborn show, I'm wondering if he is benefiting from some sort of anti-depressant medication? His optimism, openness, humor, enthusiasm, and energy never seemed to be better. Any one else notice similar observations or have any other attributions for this?

  • Is it just me or had they really really slowed down the tempo from what I remember from the shows and the mp3 version of that song? Maybe we're just getting the faster version live....
Still listening to the rest of it. I didn't think he could have slowed down that song more than it already was.

  • Morrissey at his most charming, assaultive, enigmatic, witty, elusive, intelligent...I could go on. A true original. No wonder the world ignores him! He should take it as a compliment. "There world is designed for crashing bores" like Elton.

And I've always thought "The Wrong Boy" would make an excellent film. If they'd just release the book in America! I ordered mine from amazon.co.uk.

  • Ok fellow Mozkateers,

Tired of having lockjawed, popstars shuved in your face?

If you feel so inclined, please go to the following link and sign a petition for the re-regulation of commercial radio. The petition, in a nutshell, is trying to stop the monopolies (Emmis, Infinity, Clear Channel, etc.) from owning too many radio stations across the nation and taking away the individual station's rights to support their local/regional music scene. If you do decide to sign, please help out the cause by distributing this link.

    Thanks!

Almost six and a half years ago, "The Telecommunications Act Of 1996" was signed into law relaxing the amount of stations an entity can directly or indirectly own in a single market. Since then a large number of companies have helped to build a monopolistic hold over the radio and concert industry. These companies have contributed to the elimination of localism, diversity, and competition which is the exact opposite of what the signing of the act was supposed to do.

  • I have heard from Janice Long, who says that the broadcast will be the interview from last week plus a concert from 1995.
