I just went and reserved my copy of You Are The Quarry at the Virgin Mega-Store in Costa Mesa, CA and they gave me a 7" Single(maxi) for free. These are for a limited time on a first come first register basis. The songs on the 7" are 1.Irish Blood English Heart, 2.Its Hard to Walk Tall When You're Small, 3.Munich Air Disaster 1958 and 4. The Never-Played Symphonies. Hurry these are limited. I just wish I had a record player so I can hear these songs.

Did a search for Moz on iTunes (music store), and saw that the songs Irish Blood, English Heart, It's Hard To Walk Tall When You're Small, Munich Air Disaster 1958, and The Never Played Symphonies are listed as available for purchase on May 4. However, when you double click on the songs, a 30 second preview of each is available. The best of the lot (IMHO) is "It's Hard To Walk Tall..." with the line "Hey Ringo, it's sad, oh..."

  • Still sticking to my rule of short clips only until the album.

    "It's Hard to Walk Tall, When You're Small"
    Like a cross between one of the faster tracks off of "Your Arsenal" crossed with "Boy Racer". Solid.

    "The Never Played Symphonies"
    Lovely! A piano-led ballad with electric guitar crying in the background. In the vein of "I've Changed my Plea...", but a slightly faster tempo. Fantastic, youthful sounding singing on this one.

    "Munich Air Disaster 1958"
    My least favourite of the clips. Sounds like a decent Southpaw B-side but not much more, BUT, this is only 30 seconds.

    These were only 30-second clips...impressions as such. But as Morrissey has done through his career, he will definitely place some gems on the B-side!

    I can't believe there are people that are "worried" about this album. Head examinations down the hall on the left...

  • I've said it before that I was skeptical because of the hype that the record was getting that it couldn't possibly be one of the best or "the" best Morrissey record. After hearing all the clips from the new record, I can tell that it really is going to be one of the best Moz records. The B-Sides for IBEH are amazing. I especially like It's Hard To Walk Tall. Rockin. May 4th and 18th can't get here soon enough.

  • You can also get a copy of the 7" from ebay already. No one is really bidding on them which a bit unusual....but most of them are fairly new postings...I'm gonna go down to Costa Mesa today and get my copy anyways. As of 11am they have 15 copies left.

  • I'd be willing (and, of course, able) to transfer the songs from the 7" record to a CD. If you send me the 7", I'll burn a copy for you and one for me and then return the vinyl and your CD copy to you. If you cover shipping to me, I'll cover it to you.   • At tonight's concert, one rep from Tower showed up and took pre-orders for the album. When you do the preorder you buy the single for 1 cent so it evens it to the dollar amount. It's nice having it on a cd, but i have a feeling the vinyl would be worth something

  • I don't know if you are all aware but in the marketplace area, there is a link to a web site which contains the entire songs. "it's hard to walk tall..., munich air disaster and the never played simphonies" plus "the first of the gang to die"

    search and you shall find...
