I doubt that all the people who were working at NME at the time of Finsbury Park have left since then. either they got some new blood in or they just want to cash in on Moz's success.
I would have thought Moz would have blown them off if they wanted an interview after the way the magazine slagged him off years ago. maybe he's trying to become more mainstream...dunno.

He said that about YATQ.
It was not his best album, not by a long chalk. That accolade belongs to the eternally wonderful Vauxhall.
He would be wiser to say nothing and let the album stand or fall on its own merits.
But of course I will snap this issue from the shelves. Probably will be cobbled together from Visconti, Julia though.

I also think he will have developed a new creative angle for this album- maybe it will be a concept album with a theme of love and survival-? Not sure. If you were ever tormented in any way, then you will understand what I am trying to say. Undoubtedly, will we understand Morrissey a bit better.
On a different note, however- the comments being posted lately to this message board are often sickening and perverted.
I am all for humour, but lately some of the postings have been homophobic and disgusting to say the least.
I am also all for free speech and such- but if you don't care for Morrissey or Julia or whoever then go to a different site perhaps. The comments have been beyond extremely vulgar- to down-right raunchy filth.
In fact, the comments are so filthy that I feel awful and ashamed for visiting this site. I feel like I need to shower after reading some of these gross comments.
I am not perfect nor prudish- believe me. But the anatomical references, personal attacks, and gay-bashing are so like elementary school shenanigans. Stupid filth from a disgusting few.
Sorry for the length of this post, but things have gone way-overboard. Keep this site clean. Many of us have 'lived' here for many years!
With love-

-'Life is a pig sty' is 7 minutes long (and more like a 'suite' than a song)
-Lyrics are heavily influenced by Rome with many local references
-20 songs were recorded: 12 on album. Visconti found it heartbreaking leaving 8 off. Some of the best stuff left to b-sides. surprise surprise!
-Moz is a self-confessed Italianophile
-Moz also explains the album title
It's pretty good stuff. Mainly a new interview with Visconti but also features a short new interview with Morrissey. Nothing to do with Julia's website so we can now expect a full and sincere apology from Suzanne!

Visconti asserts that Moz's lyrics are deeply poetic - Moz writing about "love and death", not about court cases.
The title is a reference to himself and not Mike
Joyce.
The vocal melodies are challenging, taking him into territory not explored before.
The band are experimenting with song structure.
Morricone's contribution will likely be sublime.
Cons
7 minute 'song suites'?? Southpaw Mark II here we come!
Moz expects bad reviews - "these songs find me on the brink of optimism....that will probably disappear once I've read the reviews".
Moz went for a "band sound" - Finn said this also, and I thought the music produced for YATQ was amongst their most anaemic!
Still, hopeful.
