The official music chart of Australia, the ARIA chart, reports that Ringleader of the Tormentors has entered at number 55.
Below is a short paragraph that accompanied the news. It features chart placings for Morrissey's previous albums...
Steve Patrick Morrissey, better known as just Morrissey, was once the lead singer of British rock band The Smiths. The band broke up in 1987, with Morrissey launching his solo effort shortly after. Not one to be shy, he has addressed issues of child murder, prostitution, drug use, racism and homosexuality in his music. In recent years Morrissey has still charted in the Top 100, with You Are The Quarry coming in at #64 (May '04), Maladjusted at #62 (Aug. '97) and Southpaw Grammar at #74 (Sep. '95). Ringleader Of The Tormentors is the #1 album in Morrissey 's native U.K. this week.

How on earth is that going to attract anyone other devoted Moz fans, when almost everything else in the Top 40 is going for $20-25?

I'll try again next week at the bigger Virgin shop in town on my monthly outing, and if they don't have it, one of the specialist shops next month.
Naively I hoped that it would be glaring out at me from the shelves along with the new Madonna and Prince, but it seems Morrissey's even harder to get now than he was twenty years ago when we had to borrow the records from older friends.
I don't see how Morrissey could reasonably have anything against Australia on account of album sales if the jolly things aren't even available to buy in the first place. (And I'm certainly not going to pay nearly twice the normal price for a deluxe edition. It's music I'm interested in, not video clips, etc.)
