Following the Joe Mott story I sent in, some of you said you would email him, you obviously did! Here's some of what he had to say in today's Daily Star.

'Morrissey wears a thistle in his fly, because he is a plonker....dour delivery and introspective lyrics annoy me. While Moz fans would squeal if I suggest Frankee had a comparable musical heritage, I do find her rants at an ex-boyfriend infinitely more entertaining.

But just to clarify it for all the enraged Morrissey fans who've been bombarding me with abuse. I own a copy of You Are The Quarry.

Morrissey inspires a gut feeling of loathing in me.'

  • Who cares what journalists opinions are - anyone remember when they were about news?
Proof is in the pudding No1 album=sell outs wherever he plays and the legend moves on to create the last great english legacy.

  • This man needs therapy. And his editor is a moron if he publishes his rants. Who cares if he hates Morrissey? Other people do but they don't make an ass of themselves going into hysterics in public. What the hell. Dignity, please.

  • It's just his opinion. Why bombard him with abuse? It does nothing but reinforce the stereotype of obsessive Moz fans.

People have different opinions. Deal with it.

  • "Morrissey inspires a gut feeling of loathing in me.'"

    Would that be self loathing?

  • Because we all know people who write in such esteemed publications as the Daily Star are world authorities on music. Twat.

  • Each to their own, everyone either likes him or loathes him.But this comment is just one of many of the 'oh,he's miserable'.Wake up!!
For every 'Girlfriend in a coma' he's written a"vicar in a tutu''.
For every "unloveable'' he's written a "frankly mr Shankly"
Vauxhall and I has been my favourite for a while now, but Quarry is the most play out loud with the car window open, and the most uplifting album he's done since "Queen is Dead".
Long live the King, and Happy Birthday, mate.
