Attached is a picture that was taken on May 5, 2002 in Los Angeles, California. (in the picture from left to right) Morrissey, Javier Castellanos (ñ concerts) and Mikel Erentxun

Mikel Erentxun, was the lead singer of one of the biggest rock bands from Spain in the late 80's named Duncan Dhu. In 1992 Mikel began his solo career. Mikel is a big fan of Morrissey and has recorded Spanish versions of two Morrissey songs. The first song he recorded was "Esta luz nunca se apagará" (There Is A Light That Never Goes Out) and the second song recorded was "Todo es igual siempre" (Everyday is like Sunday).

Morrissey, the English born singer who now lives in Los Angeles arrived just before Mikel was scheduled to go on stage at a club in Los Angeles on May 5th. Minutes before the show began Morrissey was introduced to Mikel Erentxun. Morrissey told Mikel he really liked the Spanish version of "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" and thanked Mikel for doing the cover. Mikel responded by thanking Morrissey for writing such great songs.

This was the first time Morrissey and Mikel had ever met!

Don't know if anybody's solved this problem yet but I know what 'Arcana' is; I quote "...this work came from Italy with substantial income and with the composers stated as 'The Smiths'. Although not positivley identified as a Morrissey & Marr work, it is assumed to be an Italian translation of one of their works"

This was taken from an undisclosed copyright source which I can vouch for. Hope this sorts it for all of those in the dark about this song. Looks like the publisher / record company is just as confused about it but from the sounds of it both Moz & Marr made their money from it even if not knowing much about it.

On a similar note there is also a song listed as 'Novamente So' as being Morrissey Marr. I quote "...this is a Portuguese translation of How Soon Is Now?"

p.s. this is not bullshit, I am currently viewing it on a computer screen in front of me.

Graham Robertson was first to write: This site that I visit has posted a remix of the vocal track from the latest Eminem song "Without Me". The musical track is "This Charming Man". I actually kind of like this remix, it's creative. Anyway check out the site: Boom Selection (May 8)

...these mp3s often disappear rather quickly, after all they are bootlegs.

Apparently this type of thing is spreading. The NY Times article "Spreading by the Web, Pop's Bootleg Remix" (May 9) mentions this remix among others. Link via Slashdot article, "Mashed Up Music" (May 11).

Perhaps the remixer was inspired by this year's April Fool's image: Eminem-solo by Graves of Jakes.

Devout sends the text of the article that appeared in the London Evening Standard (Apr. 4, 2002):

Marr bemused by Smiths acclaim by Alex Hannaford (This Is London link posted on general message board by Monseiur Dupont)

The Smiths were one of those bands you either loved or hated. Morrissey's nasal croon wasn't to everyone's taste, and most of the band's songs were more than a little depressing - remember Girlfriend in a Coma, the Moors Murders-inspired Suffer Little Children, or its A-side, Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now?

Of course, there's a trick to it!

clue: I don't think anyone would've trusted a sexual position called "Seasick, yet still docked."

Ex-'Blue's Clues' Host Steve Burns An Indie Rocker At Heart - VH1.com. Excerpt:

Music isn't a new direction for Burns, who's played in bands since high school, when he was a member of Sudden Impact. From there, he rocked with Nine Pound Truck and the Ivys, his "Morrissey rip-off band." "It's back when I wanted to be [guitarist] Johnny Marr, 'cause you gotta do the Manchester shoe-gazing thing," he explained.
