Just read this off the BBC website. I think it would be very cool, although no chance of winning as its all political voting etc etc.
Former Smiths singer Morrissey could represent the UK at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, the BBC has confirmed.
The Mancunian musician first expressed an interest in taking part after Daz Sampson's song, Teenage Life, came fifth from last in the 2006 contest.
"I was horrified but not surprised to see the UK fail," he said. "Why didn't they ask me?"
The BBC says it is in talks with the singer to write and possibly perform a track for this year's contest in May.
According to the UK's biggest selling daily newspaper, The Sun, Morrissey is in secret talks to write (though not necessarily perform) the United Kingdom's entry in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest.
Morrissey is in for Eurovision - The Sun Online
I was quite pleased when I read the reports this morning about Morrissey in negotiations to write the Eurovision song contest tune!
"British singer MORRISSEY is in talks to write the UK entry for the Eurovision Song Contest later this year (07).
The former SMITHS frontman is a fan of the critically-panned competition.
A BBC spokesman says, "I can confirm we are in talks with Morrissey about a Eurovision song." Last year (06), Morrissey expressed his disgust at the UK's song, performed by DAZ SAMPSON.
He said, "I was horrified but not surprised to see the UK fail again.
"There's a question I keep asking myself - why didn't they ask me? That keeps going round my head."
