From Ferni Zavala:

I was checking www.deftones.net and I found that it had a real audio file of 'Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want' (go to the multimedia section click and click again on the 'SOUNDS' part and scroll down to find the sound file).

The Deftones lead singer Chino Moreno is known for being a HUGE fan of Morrissey and The Smiths. and they have covered many songs in concert ('Speedway', 'Sing Your Life', Whatever Happens I Love You', 'Ask') but never any recorded versions, aside from 'Please Please Please...'. You can't find this song on any album or single but it is on there promo single of "7 Words" and was released in '95. If you are familiar with The Deftones you know that their music is very heavy and has a hardcore sound to it, and that Chino's style of singing is mostly screaming. Which is why I suggest you hear their cover cause I think its good. Also they've covered Depeche Mode, Duran Duran and Weezer which are all good covers.

Years ago I used to listen to the Deftones ans was already aware of this. I still listen to them only when I'm getting ready to play in a hockey game. That's basically the only good thing their music is for. (like the x games on ESPN).

to say that the Deftones are only to be heard for anger or a burst of energy. i disagree, yes most of there music is Heavy and Hard but most of what Chino writes and sings about is very deep and personal. ( examples: Mascara, One Weak, Linus, Christmas, Dai The Flu ). Thats like saying i listen to Morrissey only when i'm sad or depressed... which would be wrong. Most of his stuff is witty. You should check most Deftones songs and see more of what your hearing rather then listening. and there cover is GREAT!

Deftones are rubbish regardless of who they decide to cover. So does anyone know the release date for the Metallica double live tribute album featuring the songs of Belle & Sebastian?

I have no idea when that Metallica tribute album is going to be out. I thought there was suppose to be a Smith's tribute album??? Even though I don't listen to hardcore stuff now, I will always be a Metallica fan because I've been listening to them since I was in 5th grade. That was the first type of music I got into until 11th grade. Basically I'd say I pretty new to the whole Smith's/Morrissey thing. I relate to it much more.

I really don't have anything bad to say about the "heavy stuff" because there are alot of real good groups out there. I just perfer stuff like Radiohead or the Cure, Sarah McLachlan, Depeche Mode, and of course The Smiths and Morrissey.
