Thanks to Todd Gouin for the following:
I'm not sure if it's come up before or not, but I stumbled onto this site that has an mp3 of Sinéad O'Connor covering "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle" (live).

Thought it might be of interest to anyone looking for Moz / Smiths related mp3's.

I haven't heard enough of her music to say I'm a fan but I say more power to her for standing up for what she believes in.

Well Warren I guess you couldn't guess by the last name but she is catholic and maybe she ripped it for what her religion has been subject to in her country(Ireland)

Hey Corey! Quit stereotyping! There is some girl in my homeroom class whose last name is O'connor. And she is not from Ireland, she is black. So get your head out of your butt!!!!!

Andy Rourke was playing bass for her for a little while, wasn't he? It woulda been cool to have him on this track

Rourke and Joyce were playing in her band shortly after the split. She also covers ABBA. There is a great picture of her having tea with Morrissey in a English garden.

I'm Irish and from the same part of the country as Sinead and would like to point out that her and Morrissey are mutual admirers. As regards her ripping up a picture of the pope - it was an artistic expression of anger. Ireland up to just recently was a VERY Catholic country with laws that followed Catholic doctorine (no abortion; no divorce; no contraceptives without prescription; and also a high rate of Clerical child abuse). Coming from this background it is perfectly reasonable for her to be angry with the church. She actually reflected the views of me and my peers very well.

Oh ok kieth. I didn't know that was her reasoning.

Anyhow Warren the reason her last name is O'Connor is that her family would have been owned by a man with that last name as slaves way back. Common sence my good man

Corey,

I take offense to your remark about the "black person" who has the last name O'Connor. You stated that the reason for her having an Irish surname, is because a person with the last name O'Connor had slaves who adopted the name. FYI, most Irish-Americans came to this country in the late 1800's or early 1900's as extremely poor people. Very few (percentage wise) were in the US early enough to acquire enough wealth to own slaves. If fact most Irish immigrants were oppressed themselves.
Perhaps, the girl's mother married an Irish-American with the last name O'Connor. Did you ever consider that possibility?

good lord man yes it's possible but I think what I said was more possible. I wasn't laying out every possible occurrance. Don't make a big deal out of it. It wasn't offensive I was just saying it's a possibility. Given, it may not be what happened. I wasn't saying slavery was good for god's sake.

and yes I'm aware that Irish immigrants were mistreated. My grandparents came over from Wicklow in the 30's. Who wasn't mistreated through history? Most everyone.
