From Brian Uber:

I just got off the phone with a friend in Spokane who said that the radio was announcing the Morrissey show there on February 1st at the Met.

From Dan Kemer:

FYI, Morrissey has just been confirmed at the Akron Civic Theatre in Akron, Ohio on Monday, February 14 (V Day!). The Civic is a beautiful old movie house, about 2300 seats. Tickets go on sale Friday January 14 at 10 am at ticketmaster or www.ticketmaster.com.

lazy sunbather- ticketmaster sometimes will not post a concert for sale until the week before they go on sale, 4 or 5 days before. So I would expect them to go on sale sometime next week. The Seattle show is already listed on Ticketmaster.

Oh brother, here we go....SPOKANE? WASHINGTON? Oh yeah, that's right on the way from Madison to Chicago! And what the hell is in Akron? I'm sure the alternative scene there is huge, WHAT?????? Who's organizing this tour anyway! What a debacle! There's no need for Moz to even waste his time in the northeast! Just stick to California, Texas, and Florida and all real alternative music mecca's will be covered!

Jesper what the hell are you talking about? Where
did you all of a sudden come from? We are all on this site as disciples of Moz and don't need to be bashing others because of where they live. I'm sure Tampa is a cool place to live but so are other places!!!!!

First of all Daniel my friend I am not a "diciple" of Morrissey! I think he is cool and I enjoy listening to his music, but only a moron would declare themselves a discliple of a rock star! The Pope? Maybe! A rock star? NO! You're no different than the 12 year old girl who is a "disciple" of Britney Spears! And as far as Detroit is concerned...I can't think of another city in the world that sucks so bad that it's own residents try to burn it down every Halloween! Devil's Night, Daniel, is a beautiful tradition, you make America proud!

Oh, and as for you Scott H, go feed you fat girlfriend some more cheese! MOOOOO!!!!!!

On behalf of the Tampa Bay area, I would like to say that most of us do not support much less condone the viewpoints Jesper has so elequently illustrated to us.

Jesper is just a breakout! Not an epedemic!

Why can't Moz play on a WEEKEND? How about a Saturday night? If I'm going to fly (on an airplane, that is) to one of these shows, it has to be on my day off. I can't take any more days off of work. Hey, Morrissey, you must please remember the working class!

Currently, Morrissey runs his tours by virtually managing them himself. He dislikes managers that try to run the show. He runs his tour basically with an assistant and business manager. IF YOU REALLY WANT MOZ TO PLAY YOUR CITY, then call your local venues and tell them "you and your friends want morrissey badly". Even the smaller places, since Moz doesnt mind smaller venues as long as its a nice place. If he gets enough venues calling from the east coast or midwest maybe he will change his mind about those areas. Don't bother trying to contact morrissey, because there is no way to get a letter to moz short of throwing one on stage.

He should have been at the y2k celebration on the mall in our nations capital. I was there, george foreman was there. Does somebody know where Moz was new years eve? Moz, wherever you are, D.C. needs you. Play the 9:30 club or nation whatever you do.

I must say I'm puzzled by the choice of Akron, I'd have thought it would be Cinci or Cleveland as before, but whatever.....at least he's in Ohio. No one good ever plays in Columbus (well, precious few anyway) so I sincerely doubt Morrissey will ever play here.....but then again, Akron would've definitely been the last place I'd have guessed for an Ohio venue. Whatever strikes his fancy, I suppose!

Morrissey, or his tour manager, whatever, made a great choice with the Akron Civic. It is the best theater style place in the area. It was a better choice than last time when he played at the Lakewood Civic. Oh yeah, I just broke up with my girlfriend a few months ago so if anyone is looking for a date for the show let me know!

As far as the complints about bad tour locations in small area venues, how could you honestly think of Chicago as small? It's a metropolis, get over complaining about the tour locations and just go or don't...I hope your not reading this bickering Steven, we don't all feel that way really...

Admittedly Spokane is not a mecca for alternative music, but it's a decent sized city and Morrissey is playing at a wonderful venue here. The Met Theater is a beautiful, restored movie house that features an excellent sound system and seats less than 1000 and will provide an intimate setting for the first show of the new tour. I encourage anyone thinking about atteding from out of town to make the trek; there's not a bad seat in the house and plenty of tickets are still available.

Honestly, while large concerts are exciting, some of the best live performances I've seen are those that have taken place at smaller halls with less people attending.

What's with all of the Akron pondering/bashing? I moved from Akron in 1987 and now live in Burke, VA (Washington DC)and purchased tickets for the show that will be in my hometown of Akron. His two shows in Washington DC at the 930 Club (capacity of 350) sold out quick. So, I don't have any problem driving 6 hours to see the show. Since 1987 I have missed every Morrissey show in Washington DC due to not be able to get tickets because of quick sell outs. So ROCK ON AKRON!!!
