I heard the Braid cover of "There is a light..." and it has to be one of the shi#tiest things ever!!! Lord only knows what "This Charming Man" sounds like.

hey, braid is/was on polyvinyl records. you should be able to find them at any indie store. and i dont know how bad they are, just commenting.

i heard the covers and both are absolutely terrible!!! a band called the halo benders once covered "please, please, please..." and it was half decent, but the braid songs were just revolting.

actually, the 2 braid covers are very good. god forbid that a band puts their own spin on a song they cover. the movie music cds are on polyvinyl records, out of danville, IL. as for braid, they are a great band, great people, and big smiths/moz fans. much better than many smiths covers i've heard....

I heard the braid covers, and they are horrible. What a terrible band. Does anyone hate the stupid emo fad as much as I do? Ugh, give me a barf bag!

I would have to throw my lot with those who think that the Braid Smith's covers are really well done and interesting. Braid was one of the most inventive underground band of the nineties, and their live show was intense. It's a shame that they are no more, but I certainly feel lucky to have experienced them. Anyway the easiest way to that record and the band is the www.polyvinylrecords.com site. Peace.Love, Hakim

Honestly I've never heard of "Braid". But speaking of Smith's covers, has anyone heard the Deftones cover of, "Please, Please, Please Let Get What I Want"? I want to know if it's any good.

I play both of the covers on my radio show....I agree that they're nowhere near the quality of the original songs, but it is interesting to hear covers that have a different spin. Then again, I've heard some covers that are painful to listen to. I guess it's just all subjective.

Just wanted to add my opinion on the Braid cover controversy. I have not heard the songs yet, but am very anxious to. Braid is a great band, along with many other indie/emo bands. I know sometimes it is hard for people to be introduced into new (inspiring and inventive) kinds of music - but give them a shot! Very jealous of the one who saw them live.
