From Peter England:

This message is to confirm that The Smiths - The Complete Picture was released on DVD in the UK on Monday 10th April...

Sadly, as with the US version, it's just a replica of the video version. With DVD being capable of holding so much more information on one small CD sized disc it's a huge disappointment that Warners didn't include any extras. Even a library of photos would have been something, or an illustrated discography. When will these corporate idiots learn how to please the fans! That said, of course, we'll all still buy it!

Mine came in the mail today. Of course I bought one. I'm a Morrissey fan, and I'll get anything that has the tinge of Morrissey or The Smiths to it!

Im NOT gonna buy the Smiths DVD.
And i think Warner bandits should get a grip on things. Those Best of....was totally pointless and what a rude track selection. A total mess.
With the DVD we now get NOTHING new, so how many of us are gonna buy a DVD player just to see the same stuff we have on video ? Well not me !
If they had anything unavailable on it, or anything new to add, i would buy a DVD player.

"Don't worry"-

I was just kidding around with you, I liked your reply though... I meant to get a rise out of you but instead got it out of someone else! "Digital Versatile Disc" and "Digital Video Disc" are both correct technical terms...

I keep trying to play DVD discs in my VHS player but nothing happens...until then I continue to watch Moz on good ole' VHS!

>Thanks for the tip...

>I wonder if Moz has a DVD player or standard VHS...hmmmmmm

You really have to decide whether it's Moz you like...or Warner's shareholders. This DVD sounds like a total rip-off to me, and I'll happily stick to my wax-cylinder version.

Well I've got a papier mache bust of Morrissey. I made it in art class in 1984. My dogs have chewed on it, I use it for target practice with my BB Gun, The nose is missing and he only has one eye. But since you'll buy anything to do with The Smiths & Morrissey, then I'll sell it to you for $150!

I see that the'greedy' record companies are getting the blame again for what is essentially Morrisseys efforts to recoup some of the losses owing to the Mike Joyce courtroom fiasco. Admit it, Lonely Ones, your hero is desperate to get his hands on the cash that his pathetic fans ought really to be spending on therapy.

Judy Garland has miraculous insight into the Morrissey-pathetic/corporate swine/dvd fiasco. I don't know. I saw Morrissey, he seemed nice, but, he's really quite greedy. And obviously unscrupulous because he knows how much his fans like him and he's feeding them @#!!! now.

if one more person (and believe me , there's a number that visit this site) say that morrissey shouldn't have had to pay joyce for unpaid royaltie, THEY SHALL GET A BOOT UP THE BEHIND.
morrissey is a greedy tight-arse. but he is also a great lyricist and a great vocalist.

qualada you seem to have missed my point. I was pointing out Smiths fans blindness to Morrisseys greed. I know that Morrissey and Marr stitched the other two up big-time as this was proved in court.

This DVD is a good pick for those who don't have anything on video form, for the rest of us that do have it (including the tape), this says "enjoy the jizz on your face sucker!" to me. Screw YOU WARNERS!!!

judy, i get your point. i was just referring to arguments on other pages on moz vs joyce/rourke, with certain people saying that the smiths would have been no different with a different rhythm section. yes, unbelievable, isn't it! the smiths were a team, and, for instance, they had a different bassist, i can't imagine that the songs would be nearly as good.
