He exceeded that target aeons ago, @Amy. His tragedy’s not realising that he’s crossed the finish line and needs to stop. Not that he will, of course. Self-destructiveness must be a family trait, it seems.
Forgettable, meaningless and trite. For long periods of his solo career, the music struggled to match the lyrics. It’s now reached the point where the music begs for decent lyrics. He can do so much better than this. Sad, when you think of what once went before.
Thank you! When you’re young and wish to make your mark, then you almost have a point. But at 63 and he still he does the misunderstood victim schtick? Get gone, man! That’s just soooooooooooooooo weak!
And then he makes risible remarks in a beiger than beige interview that some InfoWars...
What must Morrissey do to get a decent interviewer? It’s almost as if the Yes people he’s surrounded by are scared of losing their meal ticket. He needs taking out of the comfort zone he’s been in for far too long. It may spice things up some.
Thank you. True culture is kinetic. Those pining for a past they never truly knew and pine for do more long-term damage than they choose to realise.
I do remember a certain individual - presently “….on timeout” - being told that if she “….wishes to remain in the past, then she should have...
He sees a lot of Morrissey in himself - and vice-versa. Both gave compelling interviews that set them apart from their contemporaries of the time. They were also the sons of tough Irish working-class fathers and had mothers who doted over them, for whom they could no wrong.
Both also liked...
I saw Boy George once on the London Overground (Clapham Junction-Stratford) to work on a Monday morning (around July 2014). He was a little chubby at the time....and in a Mint Green Adidas tracksuit.
He tried playing undercover, but he somewhat undermined himself just by sporting gold Elvis...
@Gina Docs, are you looking to feel the scorn of the “true believers” still reeling from the news ‘BoT’ has had its release date pushed back into infinity….ish? Be careful. You’ll feel the wrath, turn your back….and gag with satisfaction, ma’am. :thumb:
I’ll believe it when I finally hear it. And as regards this being “…..a (Pyrrhic) victory for free speech,” the truth plenty here deny is that Morrissey’s album and single sales have plummeted dramatically over the last few years.
He’s not had a Top Ten single in the real world charts...
“Do as we say, not how we do” is their motto, @Johnnie Ray. For your faith in Moz to be seen as less than absolute and devout has your card being marked as a result and major consequence of this, you’ll see. Not what can be brushed aside as an lie ‘round these parts, eh? Why is this the case...
I finally got this on 12” off eBay, around 2005-06 for a fiver. It’s also on her 1988 album ‘Hello Angel’, albeit with a slightly different ending. I have that on cd somewhere.
Geezer, I didn’t even buy the last two, if the truth be told. I downloaded them….from a well-known source. So it’s really no skin off my nose whether or not they ever see the light of day. :brows:
Straws to vainly clutch at in the face of an undeniable and inescapable truth that can’t be brushed aside? Absolutely, @sycophantic_slag. I went to Pride in 2016, and the way some folks got treated was disgraceful.
A group of lesbian asylum seekers who were campaigning against the co-opting...
A dear friend of mine who took her life in late-2015 due to depression was one of the most warm-hearted and empathic individuals I had the pleasure to know. She would never have stood four square with the characters Morrissey does.
This is a guy that once had arguably the most loyal and...
