This site is hands down the most useful site out there for Morrissey, as much as he may or may not think its SoLow. Good and bad times its been here and happily it is still here.

The biggest artist I've actively and personally responding to remarks about them on a forum is Wiley. In one instance he gave someone his number to call him and make the remarks in person.

Obviously though you must reach a certain level of fame where you couldn't give a shit, or just don't have the time, even if people are saying good things.
