Silly thing to say, if you listen to any interview from that period he has a very similar tone and voice etc.
Because that was part of the persona he was projecting at the time. He was trying to be Oscar Wilde. That was so obvious. There's nothing silly about it.

It's weird how people bring him up all the time. From what I've heard it seems Wilde was a really vivacious person, which is not exactly what one associates with Morrissey. Is it the wit that's supposedly the same?
 
I dont get it either, Drunken Goldfish. Perhaps it is the wit, as Oscar Wilde was extremely witty, though, again, I don't think Morrissey affected this. It's natural for him.
