Has there ever been any time when you have been reliable and 'done your part' but wish you hadn't?

We've all had people who've let us down, been unworthy of our respect; to whom we've given valuable time to people who don't care if we live or die. Be it a romantic partner whose commitment goals were 'different' than our own, a boss who feigned friendship out of greed, a friend who was not there in our time of need.

Have you ever given of yourself to someone unworthy?

I loaned someone a lawnmower once, a crappy old thing.
Well he customised it, put a different motor in and then denied it was mine.

I wonder if that's what Morrissey was referring to when he wrote "no-one has ever given me anything. Well, except for an old hover-mower, but once I'd spent a load of time souping it up & drawing crude pictures on it with felt tips to make it look more like a Formula 1 car, they decided they wanted it back! Bastards!!"

Yes, I have. I was very loyal and trusting of someone once, only to find out that they used me as a puppet for their own agenda. I was surprised at how quickly I got over my anger though. I was a little disappointed in myself for allowing it to happen.

BTW, are you a soc or pych student?
