Interview: The Puppini Sisters - mywestend.co.uk

Excerpt:

How have the artists you have covered appreciated it? Any feedback from them?

We were very surprised to receive such positive feedback from The Smiths fans! They are renowned for being very picky but have left some really nice feedback on our MySpace site (www.myspace.com/puppinisisters). We also feature on a website called ‘The Worst Kate Bush Covers Ever’ as doing a version that they do actually like! Still waiting to hear from Kate and Morrissey though…

  • I saw the Puppini Sisters at HMV on Londons Oxford Street just the other day.

    They looked divine.

They played their "tribute" to The Smiths and it reminded me of nothing so much as the Mike Flowers Pops rendition of "Wonderwall" from a few years back...inoffensive, amusing but, ultimately, lacking any real substance.

More interesting than the Sisters was the opportunity to chat with Dickon Edwards...the only real heir to Morrisseys lyrical throne. He was quite keen on their version of "Panic" and was intent on playing it at his new nite-klub.
