Discussion Topic: Lyric changes at live shows

It's as if he's saying, THIS is what I meant all those years ago, and now I'm going to say it without any poetic encumbrance.

that's the conclusion i tend to come to, too, and it always makes me dissect the song even more.
other times it seems like the changes kind of come naturally or make more sense instead of the recorded lyric, and then he sticks with it because it ends up sounding better or is easier to sing, etc...im trying to think of an example but i cant right now...
