Absolutely works hiccup remedy:-

1. Bend from the waist down.
2. Drink glass of water; sipping from the opposite side
to which you would normally sip.

continue to do so until you notice the hiccups have gone.....

Oh, and not just because I'm Australian. This is a sure fire cure......
