On ITV2's atrociously cheap Brits backstage gossip programme (aired straight after the televised event itself) Robbie Williams proclaimed that he and Morrissey WERE due to perform a duet. The song was to have been "I Like You" ending with a Britney/Madonna style kiss between the two of them which Robbie was pleased to do, adding that he wasn't gay(!). But it all fell apart after Morrissey decided to pull out at the last minute. One can only wonder…

Was at the show at the legendary Troubadour in west Los Angeles tonight (Feb. 10).

Enjoying the sets of The Zutons; The Shore and The Peels.

I just happen to look up in the VIP balcony area and I shockingly spot THE MOZ himself! He appeared to be kicking back and enjoying the Zutons set quite a bit. I happen to mention to the bartenderess and she already knew he was there!

After The Zutons wrap their set I see the lead singer of The Shore went and introduced himself. Then the Moz and lady friend stay seated after pretty much everybody are clearing out.

I some get the courage to head up the balcony and some how get through. I nervously I say hello and we shake hands. I was numb. He was quite cordial and we chat for a bit and have to ask if he was planning any new tour dates, he said he working on such matters and would have to see how things work out. I was melting...

Boy what a surprise and just made my evening! I'm still in awe and surely wont wash that hand for weeks!!!!

Thanks Moz for making my night/week/year!!!

Picked up a free copy of Brits 25 magazine whilst in HMV today.Nice Sanctuary advert for Moz congratulating him on "garnering " 4 Top 10 hits last year.

Also I am reading the Suede book "Love and Poison" at the moment Plenty of Morrissey and Marr references but one thing I didn't know is Mike Joyce auditioned to be their drummer in the early days and helped them out a bit

In June of 2004 Morrissey invited the legendary New York Dolls to play a very special show at this year's Meltdown Festival taking place in London at the Royal Festival Hall. Simply put the results were fantastic and found the Dolls playing better than ever.

Since the re-union I was contacted by the Dolls manager to put together an official website for the band. We hope all MORRISSEY fans will check it out!

We have the latest news surrounding the band, mp3's, videos, and an online community for Dolls fans to meet and chat!

"Three cheers for Morrissey for bringing us back together" - Syl Syl.

Kind Regards,

Quoted from this week's HolyMoly email:

When Morrissey was touring with Oirish crooner Damien Dempsey in the States (after championing him to all and sundry), Damo did a radio interview and was asked what his favourite thing about America was.

He said the Philly Cheese Steak and promptly got canned from the tour and struck off Mozzer's christmas card list.

Hot on the heels of the Ordinary Boys, comes The Boy Least Likely To which has been impressing fey types in London over the last year.

There are some reviews here and here:

The Best Party Ever is a lovely collection of pop ballads musically far more cheerful than you might have expected from a band named after a Morrissey b-side (although the lyrics are actually also usually self deprecating). So don that hand knitted cardigan and wallow in a veritable indie schmindie experience, one that you’ll return to shamefaced like that Winnie the Pooh shaped hot water bottle you guiltily use on a cold night.
