    Morrissey Central "Beethoven U.S.A." (April 25, 2024)

So all of the albums get a picture from 2006? Whether it's a new release or a vintage re-release, it's all 2006. I guess I agree that he looked his best in that era, very distinguished. It just makes no sense to do with an album from the early-90s. The world of Morrissey is a strange place.

Morrissey Central "A RUSH AND A PUSH AND THE MUSIC IS OURS" (April 19, 2024)

Good times, for a change! Now PLEASE just self publish. For a guy who relishes disrupting the status quo, he is unbelievably mired in the traditions of the music business.

Morrissey Central "PESTANA PALACE" (February 27, 2024)

The real take-away is that Fiona Dodwell is armed and dangerous.

Morrissey Central "Bonfire of teenagers" (February 7, 2024)

So, Moz is locked away in the alps, recuperating from whatever. Rather than using words to announce something, someone in his camp uses low-effort MS Paint level editing to put out a vague message. I'm going to assume this is another petty swipe at Capitol. I'll believe Bonfire is here when it's...

    Wow. Business as usual.

Official Manager Statement regarding Morrissey’s health (January 26, 2024)

It's all quite disheartening. I'm assuming that exhaustion is a euphemism for depression. Dealing with depression is so difficult. It is probably safe to say that many people on this board have dealt with the "black dog" before. God knows I have. I saw seven shows last year, SLO, 4/5 in Vegas...

Both Quarry anniversary events cancelled (January 25, 2024)

Fun fact: if you take the names of every venue Morrissey has canceled on and rearrange them, you get the complete works of William Shakespeare.

Both Quarry anniversary events cancelled (January 25, 2024)

This is just sad. Morrissey has been my favorite living artist and performer for ages. He's beginning to remind me of my favorite deceased one. Is this what fans were whispering to each other in 1974, College Park, Maryland, as the wheels REALLY started to come off for Elvis Presley? I know...

The Smiths added to Trump rally music (January 23, 2024)

I was at Morrissey's first show after the 2016 election, November 9 if I recall. Grand Sierra casino, Reno. He opened with "Trump-shifters of the World Unite." Said, "We're screwed, we're screwed, we're screwed," many times during the show in his staccato way. I don't think Moz is MAGA...

Morrissey Central "Norman Lear dies, aged 101" (December 8, 2023)

All in the Family was an adaptation of a British sitcom. He was groundbreaking here in the States. There was nothing else so brash and controversial on television here in the early 1970's.

    YATQ 20th Anniversary Special: Jan 26th - Kia Forum, CA / 27th, 2024 - Honda Center, CA (December 1, 2023)

Now THIS is exciting. Only thing that would make it better is if Alain Whyte and/or Boz came back in for those shows. I'm going to be in the Caribbean that week, otherwise I'd be booking a flight from SFO right now.

New York, NY - United Palace (Oct. 22, 2023) post-show

On the subject of residencies: I attended eight of the Viva Moz Vegas concerts, four from each year. Really enjoyed myself, but having been there and spent the money (twice!) it would have been better had there been some variation in the setlist. I completely understand, especially in a place...

    Fox5NY: Morrissey, Exclusive Performance & Interview (October 20, 2023)

Hearing that booming from the Caesars Palace marquee when I was in town for the residency was a real treat. Veronica is my favorite of the new songs, I couldn't help but smile every time I heard it that week.

    Fox5NY: Morrissey, Exclusive Performance & Interview (October 20, 2023)

I end today with a better feeling about Morrissey's situation than I had this morning. His acknowledgement of a buyback being possible (even likely?) is heartening. Moz looked good, came off as odd and witty as ever. Didn't say anything to rile up the usual critics. It was a good day. I want...
