I hope you two don't genuinely believe it's the press officers job to personally call every record shop in the world to alert them to a new single release. Release dates are given to distributors, who then contact the record stores they distribute to.

Major Minor can't be arsed to let them know there is a single due to be released... I don't think Radio One (or Two) will be worrying about including this on their playlist.

Yes Recordstore even if their postage fees are far from being cheap. Take the 7" vinyl Boxset they have now for sale at £ 17.99. Well delivery to Italy (and European countries I suppose) is £ 11.75. Wow, while HMV would only charge £ 2.50. How come? , I am gonna have to ask Steve about this.

Here is a pre order for The Very Best Of LP. So I guess there is going to be a vinyl edition.It is double gatefold.

I'm pretty sure it's not going to be gatefold. The original EMI press release on tty stated it was a double vinyl in a 'wide spine sleeve' as opposed to gatefold; just like 'Bona Drag' Redux last year.
This saddens me. I love a gatefold.

A great price for that boxset, but the guts of £12 for delivery is fairly hefty. Still, something of a bargain all told.

Following on from the 2010 reissues of Bona Drag (5.5k sold OTC) and Everyday Is Like Sunday (over 10k sold OTC), the Morrissey catalogue campaign continues with The Very Best Of, a unique overview of the HMV/Parlophone years. As such, the album brings together hit singles (Suedehead (UK No. 5), Everyday Is Like Sunday (UK No. 9) and The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get (UK No. 8), amongst others), with b-sides (Girl Least Likely To, Such A Little Thing Makes A Big Difference) and the previously unreleased solo version of Interlude (originally released in 1994 as a duet with Siouxsie Sioux).

Complementing the CD will be a bonus DVD, which includes eleven remastered promo videos (three of which are previously unavailable on DVD: Boxers, The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get and Sunny) and the rarely seen (and previously unreleased) live performance of I've Changed My Plea To Guilty taken from the 'Tonight With Jonathan Ross Show', December 1990.

The two disc release will contain rare photos and will be presented in a CD/DVD digipak and double gatefold vinyl (180gm).

I do hope they are right. What's the point of double LPs if you don't slip them in a gatefold?

I've had a good experience with them every time I have ordered a bundle, so I'd encourage others to order through them, too. As an added bonus, they seem to get orders to the US quicker than most.

I've used Townsend records twice recently to order mutiple bundles of Hurts singles for a mate of mine in Canada (you only get the signed printed if you live in the UK) and they have messed up both orders. To be fair they were quick to sort out the problem but it is hardly fills me with confidence

I also find their packaging unacceptable.
