Apart from the John Bindon [Poor Cow]dedication, Morrissey says "Some thanks" to
Barbara Dowling (Sp?) [The Haunted & the Hunted] and Bryan Forbes [Directed L-Shaped Room]. This much i've gleened from the internet. However, Dierdre (sp?) Fahy has become something of a stumbling-block. Can he really be thanking the proprietor of a Ballina Off-Licence???!! If you know any better please tell...

I always thought 'Maladjusted' (the song) draws its inspiration from some documentary Morrissey must have seen about working girls or street life or the homeless or something. At least that's what part of the lyrics suggest to me, they’re very documentary-like ("do you want to hear our story or not?", "I was 15 what could I know?", "... bureaucracy making it anything other than easy for working girls like me"). Taking into consideration that the others he thanks are film-related, it’s more than probable that Deidre Fahy might have something to do with a film.
Or maybe as imdb.com suggest she could be one of the writers of 'The Facts of Life', but I doubt that.
