Hi Everyone.
Sorry for the stupid question but does Moz have a new record coming out & what label is it on. Does Moz still have a record deal or what??

Many thanks in advance.
P.S
Does anyone know how to contact his management?

Re: Record Deal: Anyone spoken to Steve Lillywhite?

Hi Mr Madasafish

No, no confirmed details of a record or a deal. There have been many rumours and even advanced sales on websites of the album but there are no actual confirmed details. Runours were the albaum is to be 'English heart, Irish Blood' or is it (vice versa?). Michael Bracewell dropped into his 'The Times' articles 3 (?) years back that Morrissey had an ablbum worth of material to record.

I don't know that anyone here has mentioned seeing Morrissey anywhere near a recording studio. I wonder if it depends more on Steve Lillywhite's availability?

PS do you have any records by Citizen Fish? Good, politico-ska from teh UK

no, the advanced sale was a mistake from a failed signing with Sanctuary, and i think that right now, if there were a label deal and album about to be released, i would hope that more than 3 people would know about it....or at least enough information would be out there so that someone doesn't have to come to a messageboard and ask and they could easily look on the news section and have the question answered without much search....otherwise, we are too jaded of a bunch.

error number two is assuming that he would record this album with Steve Lillywhite.

Oh, well, it's not as though he can't record without Mr Lillywhite - it's just he has a bit of a track record...... Maladjusted, Southpaw, Vauxhall (this is Vauxhall, change here for the Victoria line).

Yes, I perhaps made a big assumption there, but I don't mind being wrong. I just wondered....

Re: Record Deal: Anyone spoken to Steve Lillywhite?

Morrissey has enough dinero to release his album without a label and he alredy has the customers waiting. What does he need a label for? If he needs people to do the mundane tasks of pressing, distro., and PR he could just get David Tseng to do it for free. Plus Tseng would sell it on his web page for free. In fact if he had pressed his album already without a label he'd be raking in tons more money on his tour selling it with the merchandise. Plus, he'd make all the profits 'cos all hired help would be working pro-bono (David Tseng and crew.) A label wouldn't profit off him and he could feel good about that. But maybe the whole label thing is an ego deal? I say, cut out the middle man!
