S.F Concert Sat----A Dream----THEN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!

Morrissey had so much energy Saturday Nite, I didn't see that on Friday. It was perfect, I was on the far right of the stage, by the sound equipment. I could see him perfect, no one was in front of me, because I was practically sitting on the sound equipment. It was only me and this other chick that were all over the railing, hanging over. Everyone else by me were just standing there, everyone else was trying to get closer to the stage. I was yelling for him and finally he put his hand above his eyebrow to keep the lights from blinding him and looked over. I blew him a kiss and he smiled and nodded his head. I know he heard me yelling for him, because I was the loudest one at that end. Just to mess around during the break between songs, I yelled "Mexico" to see what would happen and a bunch of people started yelling. Morrissey heard and he smiled. He had the Mexico flag partly tucked in his pants and of course I was screaming for that (even though I'm not from there). I'm still Mexican and appreciated that.

ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE! Boz was playing so wonderfully, obviously having a wonderful time. Morrissey was singing the encore song "Last Nite I dreamt..." Of course all nite everyone was getting on stage about 2 or 3 at a time and security would pull them off. But during that song, about 8 people rushed the stage all we saw were people running around him and then we heard his mic drop! I looked at Boz and he took off his guitar and said F$#& and threw his guitar on the ground! I don't know yet if Morrissey got hurt or what, but it all ended there. Morrissey just started that song, and I know Boz just wanted to end this perfect nite perfectly. We never saw Morrissey again. I was asking the bodyguards if Morrissey was alright and they didn't know. I was sooo worried and still am. I hope he's okay. I understand people just want to touch him, but they should have given him a little more respect and let him finish his song. It was unbelievable!

I got a pillowcase, for some reason they didn't have them the 1st nite! I don't know if anyone else gave you this info already ^

Bye Guys!

Ohhhh, that's why Boz was mad. Yes, I'm sure Moz is alright. Although I sensed he knew a rough finish was coming, as he threw in a few more of his little half-joking lyrics into songs, like "You can dislocate my shoulder, but I love you" in "Is It Really...". When a few people on the right of the stage REALLY were pulling his arm tight, he got this scared look on his face, and I felt bad for him for 5 seconds. But oh well! "Now My Heart is Full" was amazing. Right then the nasty swig of vodka kicked in I was singing it as loud into my girlfriend's ear as possible, dancing next to this effeminate Mexican man... It was beautiful!

> Bye Guys!

I am going to see Morrissey in Las Vegas for the second time. I am spending big bucks to be able to go. Vegas had better not be cancelled again due to some of you people in California who have NO respect for the man or the band and act like you are 12 years old. Of course we would all like to be able to get on stage and touch Morrissey, but if you are one of the lucky ones who does, can't you be a little more gentle and civilized? GROW THE F*CK UP!!!!!!!

right on sister!

I agree! After having enjoyed one hell of a great concert, it was really sad to lose the band during the encore. The people who rushed the stage ruined it for everyone else that night, and hopefully didn't set a bad omen for upcoming shows. Morrissey didn't shy away from shaking anybody's hand. Some idiots wanted more, and we all got less...

Hey Paula...ummmm...I'm from California....and I will be at the Vegas shows...but I would... ...NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER...EVER...EVER...EVER...EVER...
dream of being the cause for one of Morrissey's shows being interrupted or cancelled. Having been to one Smiths and far too many Morrissey shows that ended in disaster due to too many selfish, unruly, inconsiderate, disrepectful, ungrateful, malevolent idiots from "anywhere" I know all too well the sorrow that one feels when HE and the entire band have to leave way before they intended!!! Let us pray that this does not happen again anywhere! Unfortunately, with the mentality of SOME fans we may have an uphill battle. My only mistake is I'm hoping....

which is it? a dream or hell?

Hey Goody-2-Shoes, doesn't Moz get any of the blame for inviting people on stage? If nobody goes on stage he acts shunned and pissed and he likes to put the blame on security, yet he *needs* security and bodyguards and the fans never know what the game plan is because sometimes they are told to let people on stage and other times not.

Cutting the show short by one song is not leaving "way before intended." The band often drops songs from the setlist for their own personal reasons.

Re: which is it? a dream or hell?

I have seen 2 Morrissey Fan Frenzies 1st hand, and each time Morrissey was to blame at least in part...
1.) UCLA Pauly Pavilion, this place held 11,000 people, and Morrissey told the crowd that they didn't have to stay in their seats, next thing you know a wave of 11,000 people rushed for the stage... the show was stopped after 30 min.

2.) Last night in SF, just before he played 'Last Night...' Morrissey said to the crowd that "My ass is leaving in 10 minuntes and you better get on it..." next thing you know he gets bum rushed loses his footing and the show is over...

Morrissey has a lot of syncophant fans, that think his sub-sandard band is cool, think that his opening acts acts are neat, that think his solo lps are as good as anything he did when he was in the Smiths.
These are also the same people who get all obsessed with touching him, getting close to him, have lost complete sight of the music... It's his own fault that these things happen, and he also inspires the worst type of fan.

I mean face it folks, he has not put out a great Lp since Viva hate...
His band members are a bunch of mediocre Rock-A-Billy dorks, he can't get anyone with real talent to work with him because he is too tempermental...
Each lp after Viva hate was either a collecion of previously released singles, or new material with only 2 or 3 great tracks...

Don't get me wrong, I love Morrissey and he has done some great stuff and puts on a good show... But his band sucks, they don't deserve any credit for anything great... Morrissey hasn't put out a solid lp in over 9 years... And is stuns me that the fans eat up this 3rd rate slop... and they turn to goo over a guy who has been letting us down over and over again... And his latest Mexican kick is just lame! And is shocks me that the fans are eating up Mexican culture because of it. I mean if Morrissey starts smearing monkey cum in his hair are the fans gonna start doing it too? It's all gotten kinda lame, the fans have gotten lame... It just not as fun as it was back in the Smiths days, maybe I just getting old... whatever...

I have never heard Morrissey say to anyone "Please come up on
stage and rip my arms off and make it very difficult for me
to sing....oh and could you please make it so the rest of the band can't play their instruments?" But that's me. You may have heard him say that since you are an expert on how he *feels*.

Hmmmmm....since when did not wanting to act like a complete
ass and not wanting to ruin a show for my own selfish reasons make
me a "goody2shoes"? Oh well hate me if you must! You are obviously "one of those" who would ruin it for the masses!

Here's a game plan...let's let Morrissey finish the @#!!!ing shows!
How's that?????

Oh and by the way....having to leave after only 7 songs or
so is "way before intended" which is exactly what happened at UCLA.
So there!!!!!

My mistake. I should have said people IN California instead of Californians. Although, I must say that I would never attend a Morrissey show in California since it seems as if the shows there are the most rough. I'm from Seattle and it would have cost me half as much for a plane ticket to SF as oppossed to Vegas, but I would rather spend more money than attend a show in California.

Maybe it's just me but telling everyone they don't have to
sit in their seats does not translate into "Hey everyone!
I have an idea! Rush the stage and @#!!! this gig up!"
At the time the show had just started and nearly everyone
was still sitting down! I think he just wanted everyone
to get out of their seats and have a good time...not rush the stage!

I wasn't at the SF show so I won't hazard to comment
much on what happened...except in general...I still fail to
see how anything he has said automatically translates into
"Please act like an attention starved maniac and help end
things early! I want to go home!!"

Re: Of Course, the concert was a DREAM

of course!!! I was happy for everyone that got to shake his hand, but we weren't able to hear all of Last Nite I dreamt..... and that sucked. I felt bad for the band. I think Boz is an excellent guitarist (that's for whoever it was that said his band sucks)whatever, that's just nonsense. Oh well that's your opinion and this is MINE!
