Yes I do think those lies about Arafat were just that.

I have yet to see how shortening a name is in anyway offensive.
It is not as if you are substituting it with something entirely different, as in the N word.
Surely it is human nature, Robert becomes Rob, Thomas becomes Tom, Finnish become Fins, Danish become Danes, Pakistanis become offensive when you do the same thing.

I would just like a clear explanation as to where the insult lies exactly.
