Well that was quick! I just got word from Michael Todd @ 95x that Moz has cancelled the Odessa show. Announced and cancelled, all in less than 24 hours. I think that's a new Moz record!

The show listing has been removed from www.95x.net

MORRISSEY "WHO PUT THE "M" IN MANCHESTER?"

UMD RELEASED 27th March 2006

The UMD "Who Put The 'M' In Manchester?" will be released on the same day as the single "You Have Killed Me", taken from Morrissey's forthcoming studio album "Ringleader Of The Tormentors", to be released by Sanctuary Records on April 3rd 2006.

On 22nd May 2004, Morrissey returned to his hometown of Manchester to play a very special comeback show.

Celebrating his 45th birthday with 20,000 well-wishers from the city, which has provided years of lyrical inspiration; "Who Put The "M" In Manchester?" Morrissey of course!

The live in concert UMD entitled "Who Put The "M" In Manchester?" will be released by Sanctuary Visual Entertainment on 27th March 2006.

According to playlouder, Moz is releasing a 'new' DVD.. then reading the whole bulletin it speaks only of Who Put The 'm' In Manchester. Is it simply getting a re-release or is this info wrong?

still.. found the 'carry on' gag funny...

Just in yesterday was a Morrissey video shoot with the band. Shot here in L.A.? Tapes were in Pal format which leads to suspect the video shoot was in Europe wherever Moz is currently. No sign of Alain on this video. Lots of Camera A & B-Roll on Moz with the band on the side draped with purple back-drop. New songs performed for this coming CD. Moz cladly dressed in performance attire. You know, big collar and all. The edit for this video was already behind 1 day. All in rush for Moz's forthcoming CD

Good Scoop For People Who Love Modest Mouse - The A.V. Club Blog posted by: Josh Modell

...I asked Isaac about the status of new Modest Mouse album; he said it was coming along and he was really happy with it so far, but that he didn’t have enough songs written yet. Then he mentioned that Johnny Marr of The Smiths had been flying to Portland from Manchester to write songs with him.

Pregnant pause.

I don’t know whether it’s because Brock is a funny, dry, sardonically witty guy—something I don’t think his lyrics are given nearly enough credit for—or because it seemed like such a strange, almost wonderfully incongruous match, but I totally didn’t believe him. I had just mentioned The Smiths a minute before, and I thought he was pulling my leg. Like an asshole, I asked him twice if he was lying, which I hope didn’t annoy the guy too much. He assured me that he wasn’t . Twice. Politely. (Turns out they hadn’t been able to confirm it, but Portland’s Willamette Week had reported the rumor.)

WE ARE NOT MODEST WITH OUR MICE HERE. - Willamette Week:

...two somewhat reputable sources have reported that Johnny Marr, former guitarist for the Smiths, is currently living in Southeast Portland and helping Brock with the next Modest Mouse album.
