Ad in today's NME
It looks like it's cropped at the top, but it isn't. However, it is at the bottom; I sliced off the bit where the fans are thanked for selling out the tour.

There appears to be a new photo of Morrissey on Ticketmaster... one of him eating a 99 ice cream. My only question: Where's the flake, Mozzer?!

On the unique Russian-speaking site devoted Morrissey and Smiths, "Shyness Is Nice" - there was an information that last week's Russian promoters negotiated for arrival Moz to Moscow, but management of the artist for some reason does not answer. Excerpt:

...Turner seemed perplexed by the myriad of items flung on stage during their set - calling one bra flinging woman "stupid" and commenting "is Morrissey here or summat" as a tricolour flag wrapped around his microphone.

A page-long article appeared in last week's NME discussing the return of "pop royalty," and mentioned Oasis and Morrissey, among others. They described Quarry as a "nice collection of songs" and said - according to early previews - Morrissey has bettered Quarry with his latest album.

Not a big story, but it underscores how expectations are growing and - given NME has heard the new album - it perhaps indicates the likely reception NME will give "Ringleader." So far NME has described Ringleader as "extraordinary" and "better than Quarry" - an album they awarded 8/10. So it's all looking good.

from: Pete Doherty Is Like Morrissey And Sid Vicious - gigwise.com

Carrot topped Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren claims that Pete Doherty is a cross between Sid Vicious and Morrissey.

Not only that McLaren reckons that the behind-bars Babyshambler has some of the traits of famous literary figures.

He’s quoted as blathering: "Pete is fabulous. He's like a combination of Sid Vicious and Morrissey. He's William Blake, he's Thomas De Quincy, even if he only in part knows it."

No us neither. He continued: "I can understand why Kate would fall for him.

"He needs people around him with sufficient intellect that can enthuse him and help him climb over the rocks that stand in his way due to his personality disorder and problems with drugs. Not sure Kate is the one to do that."
