anyone here who knows anything about that testpressing ?
why did rough trade press a different version on a t/p
when they never intended to release it officially.
how much is it worth ?

i have a 7 t/p with a different version of TCM.

Hi Stefan, if you don't know, then I certainly don't know. So, I'll just guess...

The matrix number for the test pressing is 1U, whereas the released version is 2U, so it would seem that either the band and the label, or more likely just the label were toying around with possible b-sides, and this selection was thrown out in favor of the released version.

I had actually never heard of this before. Looks cool. Already $600; hard to say what it's worth. It's certainly rarer than Reel Around or the negative sleeve, but those have infamy and notoriety which aid in their resale

I wonder if this auction will begin my "shaking tree" analogy. After it ends, everyone with a copy will throw one up on eBay. But I kinda doubt this, because I can't remember ever hearing about this. Which seems kinda odd. But since the matrix numbers back up its existance, it just seems like one of those odd rarities, like the How Soon Is Now? test pressing 7" with Oscillate Wildly instead of Well I Wonder.
