"Ask" on the Today Show US

I was watching the Today Show this morning and was surprised to hear "Ask" as an intro to a segment. It was only about 10 seconds of the song. But I was pleased.
The segment was a focus on Ann Curry, one of the show's mainstays, and her photography as an escape from her day to day job. She's pretty good.

I caught it too. The segment is called 'Ask Away Today.'

It's not surprising. Who works for "The Today Show"? People in their thirties who grew up loving The Smiths. They think, "Cool! I'll sneak in this snippet of 'Ask'", not realizing they're trampling, torching, besmirching, bespattering, befouling and mutilating the legacy of something they love.

Sorry. I do not have a sense of humor about "The Today Show".
