It's a god-eat-god world
It does seem to be a prerequisite these days for a band/singer's publicity reps to bang out a myspace profile. It seems a bit impersonal for a popular artist to do it, considering myspace's whole "a place for friends" line of bullshit; it makes more sense for smaller, hungry acts to use it.
