I think you're mostly right. Really, how can Osama be alive in a cave somewhere when he needs dialysis? He's probably in the same hotel as Manuel Noriega, another CIA associate who made a nice excuse for an invasion.

I say mostly though because I don't think the fact that they found Saddam Hussein proved anything. I can't really imagine how they can fail to find anyone if they want them badly enough.

that's just the point, he has specially trained operatives with the latest technology to find them for him. If that doesn't work they can just bribe someone to tell them where they (the shoes) are at.
