The Smiths songs featured in the Netflix David Fincher film The Killer in order of appearance

"...I dont want Smiths fans to be associated with some sociopathic killer for hire... also felt like Morrissey's solo material would have worked better in some aspects lol"
You don't want Smiths fans associated with the killer, but feel that solo fans are better suited ?

His solo stuff doesn't have the same ironic contrast since he was writing about killers.

Isn't the image on Central's post from nearly 2 weeks ago modelled on this one of the film;s promo pics? - https://www.morrisseycentral.com/messagesfrommorrissey/mozart

Started watching this last night, enjoying it so far.

As soon as Well I Wonder started playing I immediately thought “and why has this never been played live again? By either The Smiths or Morrissey solo?”

Watched it last night. Enjoyable, not something I would re-watch. I don't think using The Smiths' music adds anything to it.

You guys are all missing the point of it. Listen to how the lyrics of what you can hear correspond to the scene or the scene immediately prior. It’s genius and very cool.

And usually very funny.

Yeah, yeah, noticed but they felt really forced and didn't give any depth or emphasys to the story or the character. In my opinion.

Armond White is a funny guy.

"Because of Fincher’s humorlessness — remember Brad Pitt whining
“What’s in the box?” in Se7en? — nothing here can be taken seriously
except the assault on pop-music culture.".

100% correct. The lyrics in the songs used do indeed correspond to what is going on in the film at the same time. Like, say they use Girlfriend In A Coma just after the killer's woman has been badly beaten and ended up in the hospital in a, well...coma. It's not even subtle!

Can't remember any others, to be honest, and did not like the film much - too much Fight Club riff-ripping-off in it to me, and far too slow. Shrug.
