New update on TTY!!!!!!!

Thank you Hellie for your comforting me... But you know what happens and why I'm so angry at this possibility? Because I saw him live only once back in 2004 and from so far in the stadium (press passes always suck in location)... And I went to his show because I didn't want to miss the opportunity to see a great artist but I wasn't a REAL fan... until that night... I mean, to have seen him live changed my life forever... That night he put a spell on me and since then a great deal of my time and thoughts revolve around him daily, because after that November night in 2004 my life was changed for good... I'm even a vegetarian now!!

So, the fact of not see him live anymore again as real super fan is tragic to me because I've always dreamt of being in the pit or first row and carrying my signs with me and shake his hand and talk to him... You know... all the things that many have experienced here and many others dream about... And if that's destroyed and gone for good...

I joined the club too late... 3 years is nothing and I don't want it to end... because it'd be terrible, tragic, painful to death... I need that ONE more show to experience the frenzy and bliss of see him live up close and with bursting emotion... Oh Gosh... I don't want to cry...

Love Hellie.

I can't, lovemorissey... I'm at work... But I feel better now... I guess I'll save the tears for now... Thank you :) But I can't deny I feel dissapointed and sad... I'll just cross my fingers and wait other... 3 years or so?

i have just seen this 'statement' on TTY, i felt sick as i read it,
i have to admit to panicking a LOT.

but if i take of my moz tinted glasses for a minute or two (but not for too long or i might die) I can see that this is a total marketing ploy to sell tickets,
it is also however good that they are clearing up the rumours of more gigs here (uk) or not, and as Moz himself said recently he has the option to tour for the rest of the year or to record. so this is finalising on that.
Until i hear it from the man himself i will not believe it. :)

i think he may spend a year away from us, maybe more maybe less, (please moz no more) and he will do another album, as i know he has so much more to say to us.
also it'd be very daft of him to 'disappear' again after having such a good 'comeback' in 2004 and having a whole new set of fans appear.

anyway positive thoughts, make positive things happen, right Moz?

Me too. I freaked out but then thought, "Nah, his people just want more ticket sales". :)

Maybe it just means to end this tour with some great memories? The guy is probably tired.... Can you blame him? I think if anything, these shows are more of a thank you from him, rather than a retirement statement. Do you really think he would choose to play his last ever gig in Atlanta?? No offense to Atl, of course...

I'm going for positive too.

I interpret this as Morrissey needs (and deserves) a break from touring. I'm sure he will rest up, write a new album when hes got a deal hes happy with, then maybe go out with a bang at 50.

I agree with those who think hes far too dramatic to just retire quietly. He'll make a big deal of it for sure. And probably in Manchester too, as hes a sentimental old fool.

Yes, thats what I think. Lets just all hope for the best...

I wouldn't think Morrissey would perform his last ever show in America. He loves Britain too much. His last show should be in Manchester!

It would be way to sad for him i think.it would probably result in him crying and he would be too heart broken to sing (sobs at the thought:()

I have just re read the TTY post and i have to admit it really does seem to have an air of finalty to it.

The trouble is without touring how are we EVER get news of him or see him.?In the UK touring is the only time he ever gets column inches and even then they are meagre fare.It not (thank God) like we will see him celeb mags and the English press hate him (I want to emigrate:mad:).I hope he doesn`t go all reclusive. Even if he does retire from the stage give it a couple of years and he`ll get the itch.It fulfills him.He doesn`t appear to have a partner -but then what do i know.

What i will say is I don`t much care for the bit in the TTY page that says "rumour mungers" or whatever. Fans are guilty of such deeds. Its part of the fun.

*SMILES HOPEFULLY*

these should be titled, the "feel like julia for a week" ticket package..show up when doors open and get escorted to the front of the line with no hassle..

I agree the press release is probably written like that as a marketing ploy, on the lines of "you'll miss me when I'm gone".

There's been times when I've said "that's the last time I...." and after a while when I'm not so tired or fed up or ill..changed my mind.

It may be the last tour, or not. Time will tell. We have our ideas, hopes, but who knows the real reasons.

Not having followed Morrissey as long as some here, Im not as troubled. As I said before, if lasting personal happiness means Morrissey doesn't feel the need to write another song (or tour) again, then that's OK with me. I hope that if it is the last of his musical career, then that is the case.

Good luck to him, whatever he chooses to do next.

Remember the good times.
