Pete Burns is reported to have checked in to a mental hospital after friends persuaded him to seek help.
The 46-year-old Celebrity Big Brother contestant was convinced by his lover Michael Simpson and his manager to see a doctor, according to The Sun.
Before entering the St Charles Mental Health Unit in west London, Pete said: "People think I'm a dizzy blonde but I'm 110 per cent sane."
Earlier this week he was evicted from west London's exclusive £450-a-night Hempel Hotel in his tiger-print underpants over a £12,000 bill which was allegedly unpaid.
Pete is claimed to be suffering from exhaustion and sleep deprivation, and the Daily Record quoted his spokesman as saying: "Life has been very stressful for Pete since leaving the BB house.
"He is now going through the final stages of his divorce proceedings from wife Lynne.
"The divorce means he must sell off his beloved home in Notting Hill and this has all proved extremely stressful for him.
"The media demands and renewed interest in his life has had a difficult effect on Pete.
"But we don't anticipate he will be at the St Charles hospital for very long. He just really needs some proper rest and attention."
