It’s almost as if Team Morrissey can’t do anything right. It’s bizarre.
The problem is I don't think there is a "team" Morrissey anymore. At the moment there are no record companies showing any interest in backing him. His current band is a group of musicians, not an actual band. As for touring goes, if the musicians arrive in Perth, Australia but the singer remains in Singapore, that's not a team. My fingers are crossed that Morrissey can get a team asap, but this ain't it.

I’m thinking it’s him and SER. And maybe the cousin, Jay, and Donnie.

Can't wait to get the re-release of Beethoven Was Deaf from my local record shop, run home and drop the needle on the record and bliss out to it in its entirety. And the cover art with the random black lines is ace. Said no one ever.
The poor barrel has been scraped beyond recognition.

I recall his gripe over the appalling artwork for Live At Earls Court in Autobiography, complete with unflattering photo, so why oh why does he allow shite like this to come out, if the artwork supposedly means so much to him?

I have the vinyl from back in the day and the photos (cover and gatefold) were taken from the concert. Why ruin the re-issue with a photo taken decades later with a different band. How can Warners be so stupid? The newer cover makes Moz look cranky and confused.

Geez...haven't seen that photo in over 25 years...I have the CD (got it as an import from a great record/CD/cassette hole-in-the-ground place in Vegas when it was released). That photo is also in the CD sleeve.
My memory is fading quickly as age onsets even quicker, but I remember not liking the original cover shot at the time because he was smiling.

I prefer(red) the morose.

But final growl 'lalalalalalal' at the set closer was/is classic.

Be well...

He said this artwork was horrendous as well.
Comparatively, it’s the Mona Lisa.

How we laughed at the old Morrissey humour in 1993, when he said "We might use this one as a single" after an orgiastic Hendrix-inspired guitar solo at the end of TNFD and asked the frenetic crowd. "Do you think it would be a hit?" Don't use a cover shot from 2006. Just don't do it!

Could the weird black line be a bulbous salutation? It doesn't take much to complete the picture in another way. No,I will not release my childish scribbling, because surely #lighthousework will make yet another drawing out of it.

Re-issue! Re-package! Re-package!
Re-evaluate the songs
Double-pack with a photograph
Extra track (and a tacky badge)

Sadly that was my first thought. But please let's resist and not make things more infantile. There's enough going on with all this already.
Yes LHW may be inspired - we'll see.

It is like the Rolling Stones re-releasing their brilliant 1969 live album "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out" with a cover depicting them performing on their 1981 Tattoo You tour. Totally different time and space, it makes absolutely NO SENSE.

If he doubles down and tries to play these "special shows" in LA again, which was conservatively, arrogant and ill-advised after sticking it to the fans at The Greek, someone should point out there are still plenty of hens to provide for more egg on the face. I pray new management will save him from making the same mistake twice. If he's going to do these shows, they should take place in London and another wildcard city (Paris would have been perfect based on the content of the record)... maybe New York if he insists on playing the US (mainly because it's not LA and the fans are still not over the walk-offs/cancelations). Manchester would be an obviously comfortable choice if they want people to show up in numbers.
Which players he decides to serve up is another story 🫣

As for the artwork, whether he had anything to do with it's creation, he's at least endorsing it and that's not promising, either. The original, as others have noted, was a classic. It would have even been better if the re-issue would just have kept the same artwork, but changed the color scheme.

I'm happy it's being re-issued for those that don't have the original... the band/show were amazing at that time. It just seems like such an amazing record should be treated with more respect that what that new artwork suggests.
It's really crazy that he keeps doing the same thing over and over with the same results. Reading social media, no one really trusts him to actually show up for any concert anywhere he plans one. As much as I would love for Alain to be back with him, he must be so relieved he is not part of this mess.

It's April, when does he plan to announce these and have tickets on sale?
Why does he look like Richard Burton on the cover?

Does anyone know when he last played each of the sings from Beethoven live? I've been looking on YouTube and it seems it's been a long time for some of them.

Given that I'm assuming the gigs to support Beethoven will include him playing the tracks from it, this would be interesting to know and I'm sure someone knows these things or a few different people do and can contribute.

I didn't know whether to start a new thread for this or not but anyway, I would love to hear Glamorous Glue, November, Sister I'm a Poet and Seasick live again! As long as the set isn't the same as last year it'll be awesome.
